Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman will build the Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway in Gdańsk

The contract has a net value of PLN 582.2 million. The works will last until the end of April 2015.

The contract will include:
• A 17-kilometre section of a double-track railway line from the Gdańsk Wrzeszcz station, through the Port
Aviation im. Lech Wałęsa, to connect with the railway line No. 201 Gdynia – Kościerzyna,
• 1.4 km section of the single-track PKM connection with the railway line 201,
• 8 passenger stops,
• a technical station for changing the direction of trains,
• the building of the Local Control Centre,
• 16 railway viaducts, 8 road viaducts, 5 passages over the tracks, footbridges for
pedestrians, culverts, animal crossings.

The Pomeranian Metropolitan Railway will improve regional rail transport. Gdańsk and Gdynia will be connected to the Gdańsk airport. In addition, Gdańsk will gain a connection with  Kartuzy and Kościerzyna.

In the years 2007 – 2009, Budimex in a consortium with Ferrovial Agroman modernised the Gdynia Główna Osobowa railway station for PLN 146.1 million net.
Currently, Budimex is modernising a more than 50-kilometre section of railway tracks of line No. 9 managed by LCS Iława. The net value of the contract is almost PLN 698 million.
