On 12 August 2021, Budimex S.A. and Mostostal Kraków S.A. and Hyundai Engineering Co., Ltd. S.A. Branch in Poland signed an agreement on strategic cooperation on the Polish refining, petrochemical, energy and infrastructure markets.
The meeting devoted to the signing of the contract was attended by the President of the Management Board Artur Popko on the part of Budimex, Jacek Lech – President of the Management Board of Mostostal Kraków and Paweł Śmigla – Proxy. Hyundai was represented by Won Ock Kim – Vice President, Head of the Energy Infrastructure Department responsible for the European market, Jung Ho Song, as well as Iga Lis – Member of the Management Board of Hyundai Engineering Poland sp. z o.o. – a subsidiary of HEC.
As part of the agreement, each party will decide to participate in a specific project together. If Hyundai agrees, it will receive support in the bidding process at the stage of negotiations with the Customer by the Budimex Group, and if the contract is won – also its implementation. The concluded agreement is of a general and framework nature. If you are interested in joint activities, it is a strong basis for further cooperation, including , above all, the implementation of the project.
– We are pleased with the strategic cooperation agreement signed today, all the more so as Mostostal Kraków, a company belonging to the Budimex Group, is already in the process of implementing projects with Hyundai with a total value of approx. PLN 48 million. In 2020, contracts were signed for the assembly of steel structures on the Polimery POLICE project and for the supply of steel structures for platforms, also as part of the project – says Artur Popko, President of Budimex S.A.
–Currently Hyundai Engineering has two major projects in the chemical industry in its portfolio on the Polish market and intends to expand its operations in the Polish market in the long term. Especially in the current pandemic situation, cooperation with Polish companies on the implementation of projects in Poland is a priority for Hyundai Engineering, as it reduces the risk resulting from the collapse of the supply chain. Hyundai Engineering recognises the need to make maximum use of local resources in the country of project implementation in terms of materials, equipment and professional subcontractors, wherever it is technically possible and economically justified, which is why the signing of the strategic cooperation agreement with the Budimex Group is a milestone in order to implement projects in Poland – emphasized Won Ock Kim – Vice President of Hyundai Engineering.
