The Integrated Annual Report of the Budimex Group for 2016 received an award from the Warsaw Stock Exchange in the eleventh edition of the Social Reports competition.
Budimex has been reporting its social commitment for nine years now. This year’s report presents the results in financial, economic and socio-environmental terms. Such an approach to reporting is a logical consequence of the company’s responsible, comprehensive approach to management.
Budimex’s integrated report for 2016 was selected from among more than forty reports submitted to the eleventh edition of the Social Reports competition. The jury, which consists of representatives of non-governmental organizations, business, the Ministry of Development and Finance, universities, employers’ associations, experts in the field of economics, environmental protection and social responsibility, assessed the completeness of the submitted reports, their credibility and communication with stakeholders.
The main objective of the initiative is to draw attention to the importance of non-financial reporting and to identify good practices in this area. The competition recognises companies that not only operate in the interests of society and the environment, but are also able to present their achievements in a clear, transparent and credible manner in published reports. The competition contributes to increasing the transparency of the organization’s activities and engaging in dialogue with stakeholders, and is also a good source of inspiration on how to disclose non-financial data. This is important in the context of Directive 2014/95/EU on disclosure of non-financial and diversity information by certain large enterprises, implemented in Poland.
Awards for the best reports were awarded in seven categories: the main prize of the Jury, the best debut, the best report of a non-business organization, the award of the Minister of Development and Finance, Internet users, journalists, the Warsaw Stock Exchange and distinctions.
“The Warsaw Stock Exchange Award is a great distinction for us, satisfaction, but also a commitment for the future. The reporting process is extremely important to us, and thanks to subsequent reports, we learn and develop – says Katarzyna Wójcik, Expert at the Communication Office of Budimex SA and CSR coordinator at the same time.
The Budimex Group’s Integrated Report has been published exclusively online in Polish and English. It presents Budimex’s operations, its business model, strategy, values and financial results from the perspective of the most important stakeholder groups. The layout and content of the publication are based on the structure and guidelines for integrated reporting, recommended by the IIRC (International Integrated Reporting Council) and in relation to non-financial activities according to GRI (Global Reporting Initiative). The report also takes into account the directions of the latest EU legislation with regard to the disclosure of non-financial and diversity information.
The Social Reports competition has been held since 2007 and is organised by the Responsible Business Forum Association and Deloitte. The competition is held under the patronage of the Ministry of Development, the Ministry of Finance, the Consumer Federation and the Association of Listed Companies.
Among the winners of this year’s competition was a report by Cemex, PKN Orlen, Bank Zachodni WBK S.A, Lafarge and the Im. Doctor Piotr Janaszek PASS IT ON.
