Budimex SA and the Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Lublin have signed a contract for the extension of the hospital with a new building covering m.in. a new operating theatre, emergency room, intensive care unit, diagnostics and laboratory facilities. Construction works in the “build” formula will begin in October.
The gross value of the contract is 96.4 million. The deadline is 14 months. This is another large hospital facility being developed by Budimex. Last year, the largest Polish general construction contractor completed m.in. a clinical hospital in Białystok and the first psychiatric hospital built from scratch after World War II in Ząbki near Warsaw and a non-invasive medicine center in Gdańsk. The company is also currently building a new provincial hospital in Toruń and the Oncology Center in Lublin itself.
– The new block of the Lublin hospital will be a modern facility that we will implement in a very short time. We have extensive experience and know-how in implementing high-quality medical investments – says Dariusz Blocher – President of Budimex. – The Lublin region is dynamically investing in its infrastructure. This translates noticeably into the development of the entire region. We feel strongly connected to this place. We are present at construction sites in Chełm and on the S19 Via Carpatia. In Lublin itself, we also implement such contracts as: People’s Park or Revitalization of the Biłgoraj City Center – adds Dariusz Blocher.
The G-16 building is designed on eight floors (from level -1 to level +6) with a landing pad for rescue helicopters raised above the top floor.

· Quantity of reinforcing steel for monolithic structure: 1,513 tons
