On Monday, November 28, 2022. the Slovak road administrator Národná diaľničná spoločnost’ (NDS) and Budimex SA have signed a contract for the construction of the D1 Bratislava-Triblavina motorway with a length of 3.6 km. Preparatory work for the construction will start on December 1, 2022. This is Budimex’s first investment agreement in Slovakia and the fourth one implemented on foreign markets (the other three are being implemented by Budimex in Germany). The purpose of the construction is to rebuild the highway and other related facilities. This means a full expansion of the D1 motorway, including the replacement of the road structure from Vajnor to the Triblavina junction and the construction of 18 bridges. The reconstruction of the D1 road is necessary to ensure a transport connection with the D4 motorway. President and CEO of NDS NDS Vladimír Jacko said that he would want the construction of this part of the motorway to be an example of how infrastructure should be built. ” I give my word that NDS will work closely together during the preparatory work and construction to ensure that the work is carried out on schedule and at a high level of quality ,” said Jacko. The design-build construction will include the construction of intersection collectors from the Vajnory junction to the Ivanka junction, coordination with the D4 motorway and replacement of the roadway in the MÚK Triblavina area, as well as the completion of the IT system. Coordination with the D4 motorway means alignment with the already built fragments of the Ivanka Sever D4 junction, which will require modification of the construction of detours and completion of some of the D4 motorway facilities leading under the D1, including obtaining the necessary permits. “This is a very important contract for us – one of the key road investments in Slovakia and at the same time a reference facility for our future activities for infrastructure in Slovakia. We have extensive experience in the construction of roads and motorway junctions in Poland – we will use it to successfully complete the construction of the junction for NDS – says Artur Pielech, Member of the Management Board of Budimex SA. The implementation of the task in question must take place while ensuring appropriate constant traffic continuity. – I assure you that we will do everything to maintain the smoothest organization of car traffic through the interchange. We will want to make sure that drivers who go to Slovakia every day feel the effects of construction works as little as possible – says Igor Sedláček, D1/D4 Contract Director at Budimex. The investment includes the construction of 18 engineering structures, of which the two longest structures are located at the junction crossing the motorway. The value of the offer is EUR 110 million 850 thousand net. Budimex’s design work will begin immediately after the contract is signed. The contractor will have 3 years from signing the contract to complete the works. The road will be covered by a 5-year warranty. The first step will be the implementation of the project in order to obtain the necessary building permits, the next stage will be the transfer of traffic from the D1 highway and the opening of the direction from D4 to D1 (Jarovce – Trnava) and the direction D1 to D4 (Trnava – Stupava). At the next milestone, the opposite direction from D1 to D4 will be connected. The total construction period was set at 1100 days. Budimex is one of the largest construction groups in Poland with over fifty years of tradition and proven results in the implementation of infrastructure projects on the Polish and European markets. This is the first contract won by Budimex in Slovakia since entering this market in 2021. |
