Works on the section of the provincial road DW984, which is part of the Mielec bypass, are coming to an end. It is already ready m.in. the bridge structure over the Wisłoka River implemented as part of the project. The gross value of the contract is PLN 39 million. The new section connecting Chorzelów with Rzędzianowice will be used by drivers in April 2020.

The investment, implemented in the “design and build” system, began in May 2017. The works are being carried out in accordance with the adopted schedule, despite the difficulties, which include m.in. last year’s flood. Currently, Budimex has completed construction work on the crossing connecting the banks of the Wisłoka. The new bridge is 550 meters long and rests on 11 supports. Finishing works and cleaning of the area are underway. A 2.5-kilometer section of the road connecting Chorzelów and Rzędzianowice is also almost ready. As part of the investment, slip roads, two roundabouts and an intersection with traffic lights will also be built on the route. Ultimately, the new road will be part of the northern bypass of Mielec, facilitating access from the western part of the county to the city and the Special Economic Zone, also affecting safety and shortening travel time.

– Surface works on the roads and the bridge in the main part were completed already in 2019. Currently, finishing works are underway, including equipment, installation of pavement surfaces, balustrades and reinforcements. Traffic safety devices remain to be made on the road, including barriers and markings. The April deadline for the completion of the route is not threatened – says Jarosław Jachymek, contract director.

The investment is being carried out by Budimex SA Infrastructure Construction Division.
