Budimex is successfully progressing in the construction of the D35 motorway section between Džbánov and Litomyšla in the Czech Republic. The transshipment of the pipeline has recently been completed, which was crucial for the start of downstream operations. Work is also underway to rebuild the ground on the main route and work on a pair of bridges. The entire project is progressing according to the agreed schedule.

The construction of the D35 motorway section from Džbanov to Litomyšla is proceeding as planned. Budimex employees are currently completing the transshipment of utilities, which is crucial for the commencement of further construction works.

Despite the complications that arose from the collision with the high-pressure pipeline, which prevented the completion of approximately 70 percent of the planned work in the initial phase, the project is on schedule. Thanks to the temporary connection of the DN 350/DN 500 pipeline, work could start on about 30 percent of the section, which made it possible to continue key construction activities ,” says Diana Zyglewska from the Budimex Press Office.

The general contractor is also completing the reconstruction of the high-voltage line. It also began to strengthen the ground of the main course of the future motorway and special roads.

The 7589-metre-long section of the motorway should be completed by the end of 2027. The construction also includes nine bridges with a total length of 1137 meters, several viaducts, flyovers and 6.3 kilometers of noise barriers. About 16 kilometers of local roads will also be rebuilt. The cost of the investment is CZK 3.423 billion.

This is the first road contract that a Polish construction company has won since entering the Czech market. ” The project to build a section of the D35 motorway is one of our first steps towards a permanent presence on the Czech market. We want to become a stable and reliable contractor for key infrastructure investments ,” sums up Krzysztof Sokołowski, Director of the Czech and Slovak Market at Budimex.

The second contract, which is currently being carried out by the largest Polish construction company in Poland, is the construction of a dry flood control reservoir in Kutřín in the Chrudim region.
