Budimex gives the green light for the construction of a strategic section of the S10 in West Pomerania
Budimex has received a Permit for the Implementation of a Road Investment concerning section No. 2 of the S10 expressway, covering nearly 13.8 km of the route between Święte and Sadłowo. The ZRID decision issued on 9 December 2025 paves the way for construction works in the field. Budimex is the main contractor of the S10 section on the Szczecin-Piła section.
The decision covered the section running through the municipalities of Stargard and Suchań in the Stargard district. The beginning of the investment is located in the town of Święte, in the area of the existing “Stargard East” junction, where the new road will connect with the Stargard bypass. The end of the section is located in Sadłowo, just before the “Suchań” junction, constituting a point of contact with section no. 3.
The project assumes the construction of a two-carriageway Class S, with two lanes in each direction. The connection of the new route with the local road system will be provided by the “Stargard Wschód” and “Krąpiel” junctions. The investment also includes the construction of two passenger service points in Tychów (“Tychowo Północ” and “Tychowo Południe”), 10 engineering structures, 5 animal crossings, anti-glare screens, lighting infrastructure and ecological culverts. As part of the works, the DN250 high-pressure gas pipeline will also be rebuilt on a section of nearly 10 km.
” Obtaining the ZRID decision is the result of many months of intensive work by the entire team – from conceptual analyses, through project coordination, to final arrangements. This milestone formally opens the stage of construction works and is an important step in the implementation of S10 ,” says Sławomir Krekora, Contract Director at Budimex SA.
The importance of the S10 for the regions and the national transport network
The S10 expressway will be one of the key transport corridors in Poland, creating a connection between Szczecin and the Warsaw agglomeration and strengthening communication between Western Pomerania, northern Wielkopolska, Kujawy and Mazovia. The entire route, about 410 km long, is included in the Government Program for the Construction of National Roads until 2030. Budimex is the main contractor of the S10 section on the Szczecin-Piła section, implementing six sections with a total length of approx. 74 km. The contracts signed by Budimex for the S10 sections amount to a total of approx. PLN 2.3 billion net. Statistically, Budimex is responsible for the construction of every fourth kilometre of expressway in the country.
Budimex, as the largest Polish infrastructure contractor, has been involved in the construction of strategic road and rail projects for over 50 years, developing national engineering competences. The company is the largest CIT payer in the construction industry – in the last decade it has transferred over PLN 1.5 billion to the state budget, which confirms its important role in the Polish economy and its long-standing roots in the domestic market. Budimex remains a company with a strong Polish economic identity, creating jobs for over 7,500 people, developing local infrastructure and supporting the socio-economic development of Polish.
