The investor is the local government of the Mazowieckie Voivodeship. It is the most modern facility for people with mental disorders in Poland. The 7-segment building houses 9 specialized departments, a modern rehabilitation center, 300 beds and places for relaxation and sports activity. Budimex has used ecological solutions and modern design in the complex, taking care of the smallest finishing elements. The construction lasted 3 years, and the value of the project is over PLN 104 million.
– Our investment is the first newly built psychiatric hospital in post-war Poland, so expectations for it were really high. I think that we managed to meet them – in 180 days we managed to bring the investment to a closed state. Further stages included intensive and extensive finishing works. It is the most modern psychiatric hospital in Poland and one of the most modern in Europe – says Dariusz Blocher, President of Budimex S.A.
Intensive start of construction
The construction of the Mazovian Provincial Hospital Drewnica began on February 24, 2015. For 3 years, as many as 400 people worked on it. The facility is a 7-segment building that occupies 22 thousandm2 of space. It will include a modern rehabilitation center, m.in. rooms for music or movement classes, therapeutic rooms, a clinic and 300 beds. Importantly, patients will be provided with care not only by psychiatrists, but also by specialists in other fields, m.in. gynecologists, urologists, ophthalmologists, neurologists.
From the very beginning, the works reached the highest level of quality. An example of this can be the use of as many as 5 km of columns, whose task was to strengthen the base of the building. Other numbers are also impressive. ” The Drewnica Mazovian Provincial Hospital in Ząbki has m.in 25 thousandm3 of concrete from which the structural elements of the building were made, 1500 tonnes of reinforcing steel to strengthen them, or 0.5 million bricks used to erect the walls by bricklaying teams ,” says Piotr Kurowicki, contract manager at Budimex. The construction to the closed state lasted approx. half a year, and its completion opened the way to the start of finishing works.
Granite flooring and modern design
The finishing works included m.in. installation of sanitary and electrical installations, as well as laying specialized floors and elements on the walls. – The hospital is not only functional and perfectly connected, but also very modern in terms of design. Granite flooring and glass finishing elements, as well as the latest generation furniture and medical equipment matching this style, make the interior of the facility also visually present the European level – says Dariusz Blocher.
The whole is complemented by a carefully developed outdoor space, which has as much as 10 hectares of green areas. Alleys and alleys have been enriched with over 23 thousand. seedlings so that the vegetation is an element of therapy and relaxation for patients. There is also a winter garden at their disposal. The complex also includes spaces for integration, relaxation and physical activity with a place to play chess and table tennis. The main point is a gazebo where you can organize sessions or meetings.
Ecological nature of the investment
The hospital in Ząbki also stands out in terms of the technological solutions used, which are aimed at improving the work of the staff. – An example is the automated pharmacy system, which consists of a central module with decentralized cabinets. It supports the control and distribution of medicines throughout the hospital – says Piotr Kurowicki.
Ecological solutions have been introduced in the facility: renewable energy sources have been used in water and air installations. These include, for example, heat pumps and solar collectors, which allow you to reduce the cost of heating water by up to half.
– The construction of this hospital is another investment in the medical sector, which we create comprehensively: from construction to equipment. Such projects are important to us, babout In addition to the challenge they pose, these are much-needed investments that serve the community in the region and even the entire country. We are proud that once again we managed to create such a modern medical facility – says Dariusz Blocher.
The value of the project is over PLN 104 million, of which PLN 95 million comes from EU funds and PLN 13 million from the state budget. This is one of the largest investments carried out by the local government of the province. Mazowieckie.
