Budimex SA has completed works on the construction of the Rembelszczyzna-Mory gas pipeline for Gaz System. It is one of the most important transmission investments in the Warsaw agglomeration, strengthening the energy security of the capital and constituting a key element of the so-called Warsaw ring, which is part of the city’s modern energy supply system.

The gas pipeline, which is over 28 kilometers long and 700 mm in diameter, connected the gas compressor station in the Rembelszczyzna region, in the municipality of Nieporęt, with the town of Mory, in the municipality of Ożarów Mazowiecki. The value of the contract carried out by Budimex amounted to PLN 188 million net, and the works were completed as planned in the first half of 2025. The entire investment was carried out by Budimex SA in the “build” formula, and the warranty period for the works performed is 36 months.

The construction of the Rembelszczyzna-Mory gas pipeline is another project implemented by Budimex of great importance for the Polish energy infrastructure. The experience gained during the construction of this gas pipeline is a continuation of the company’s commitment
development of energy and transmission infrastructure. Previously, Budimex was responsible, m.in, for the construction of sections of the Baltic Pipe gas pipeline and the construction of the Poland-Slovakia gas pipeline
,” says Łukasz Zapart, Contract Director at Budimex SA.

The investment required a high level of technological advancement of the works. On more than five kilometres of the route – i.e. nearly a fifth of the entire gas pipeline – Budimex used trenchless methods, including five horizontal HDD drilling. Such solutions have made it possible to limit interference with the natural environment, especially in areas of natural value, such as the Kiełpińskie Ławice Reserve, Młociński Park, the Nowa Warszawa Forest and the vicinity of Modlińska Street.

The longest drillings, over one kilometer long, were carried out under the bottom of the Vistula River and under the Młociński Forest. Thanks to this, it was possible to maintain the continuity of river navigation and protect the local tree stand. The construction and assembly strip in the forest areas was deliberately narrowed to 15 meters, which required great precision and perfect coordination of work. After the completion of the construction, Budimex also carried out land reclamation and compensatory plantings from native tree and shrub species, restoring the natural landscape along the investment route

The 28.5-kilometre-long gas pipeline built by Budimex with a diameter of 700 mm  and an operating pressure of 8.4 MPa is an important link in the country’s transmission system. In the future, this infrastructure may be adapted to transport biomethane or hydrogen, thus supporting Warsaw’s green energy transition and the development of low-carbon energy sources.

Budimex, as one of the leading Polish construction companies, boasting over fifty years of tradition, has been implementing projects of strategic importance for the security and development of the country for years.
