From 1 September 2026, Budimex SA has been supported by a class of 31 students studying the profession of automation technician at the Silesian Insurgents Electrical School Complex No. 1 in Krakow. The cooperation will include, m.in, equipping the laboratory with specialist equipment, workshops with experts and visits to construction sites. On 11 September 2026, the establishment of a new classroom in ZSE was officially inaugurated.
Budimex’s cooperation with the Krakow school is to help students combine the knowledge gained during lessons with practical skills used in the work of automation engineers and power engineering specialists. The patronage covers students who continue their education in the second year of technical school. Thanks to cooperation with Budimex, they will be able to learn about equipment, technologies and tasks related to the implementation of infrastructure and energy investments.
” By developing the program of patronage classes, we want to give young people the opportunity to learn about the industry and acquire practical skills at the stage of schooling. Access to specialist equipment and contact with our experts will help students better understand how the knowledge from the lessons translates into specific professional tasks. Together with schools, we want to prepare future specialists to enter the labour market and consciously plan their careers. For the market, it is an investment in future staff and competences needed in the implementation of construction and energy projects ,” said Tomasz Sopel, Deputy Director of the Power Engineering Department.
As part of the patronage, Budimex has renovated the classroom and will equip it with specialist equipment. Students will use, m.in, a power protection automation cabinet (EAZ) with a field controller. It will allow them to learn in practice solutions for measuring, controlling and protecting power grids and equipment from the effects of disturbances.
Workshops, visits to construction sites and contact with experts
The school classes will be complemented by workshops and lectures conducted by Budimex experts, as well as visits to construction sites, during which young people will learn about the use of the discussed technologies and the organization of the work of the teams implementing investments. The programme also provides for the possibility of professional internships, the organisation of which will depend on the current needs and possibilities of individual contracts. After completing their education, graduates will be able to apply for a job at Budimex in accordance with current recruitment needs. Direct contact with trainees allows students to get to know the specifics of technical professions better, discover their own interests and prepare for their first professional experience.
Second Class Patronage of Budimex
Budimex has already concluded 57 strategic partnerships with schools across Poland and signed 29 cooperation agreements with universities. The class launched in Krakow is the company’s second patronage class. The first one started operating this school year in Koluszki. The leader of the Polish construction market has been supporting young people for years through internships, internships, meetings with experts and educational projects, helping them gain their first professional experience. In this way, Budimex consistently invests in the future of the construction industry and helps institutions adapt education to the needs of the labour market.
