Budimex has modernised an educational centre for children hospitalised in a clinic in Slovakia. This is another such initiative of the leader of the Polish construction industry and an element of many years of activity as part of corporate social responsibility.
Budimex has opened another – the 45th – Parent Zone. This time, the beneficiary of the support is the otolaryngology clinic at the National Institute of Children’s Diseases (NÚDCH) in Bratislava. This is the second Parent Zone implemented outside Poland and at the same time another example of the fact that Budimex’s model of pro-social activities is also recognised abroad.
The Parent Zone is an original initiative of Budimex, which has been supporting children and their families in Polish hospitals for over a decade. Since 2013, the company has already completed 44 such projects in Poland. The experience, know-how and initiatives developed in Poland have become the starting point for the implementation of this model also outside Poland – in places where Budimex implements investments.
In the newly modernized educational space in Bratislava’s NÚDCH, colorful, safe and comfortable rooms for children have been created – both for learning and preschool activities. The renovation included, among m.in, renovation of ceilings, renovation of doors, painting and wallpapering of walls, installation of air conditioning and new furniture equipment.
“Our social commitment does not end at the construction site. Wherever we are present as a general contractor, we also want to be a good neighbour. Therefore, it was a natural step for us to expand our social activities to Slovakia as well. I am glad that the renovated and fully equipped center will serve children, their parents and staff. I hope that using this space will bring many smiles and positive experiences to the charges of the institute. – says Anna Karyś-Sosińska, Member of the Management Board of Budimex. “This is another step in the implementation of our strategy of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility. We show that Polish CSR solutions can effectively respond to the needs of local communities in various places in Europe,” he adds.
This is the second Budimex Parent Zone implemented in Slovakia – the first one was established last year, in the centre in Vajnory. Both initiatives are a response to the real needs of patients and their families who stay in hospitals located in the immediate vicinity of infrastructure projects implemented by Budimex.
Budimex remains a leader in CSR activities in the construction industry – consistently investing in initiatives supporting local communities. Parent Zones are only one of the elements of this strategy – but one of the most recognizable and appreciated, also outside Poland. The initiative is proof that Budimex not only focuses on high-quality infrastructure, but also strives to have a positive impact on people’s lives – wherever it builds.
