On 19 January this year, the Geodetic and Road Engineering School Complex in Poznań hosted the grand opening of the Budimex zone, a new space created for students. This is the third initiative of this type implemented by Budimex SA in cooperation with educational institutions in Poland. Previously, similar zones were created at the Stanisław Noakowski Technical School in Warsaw and at the Bialystok University of Technology.
The new zone has been designed to be a friendly place for learning, resting and integrating students. Its character refers to Budimex’s previous projects, combining educational functions with a space conducive to relaxation and developing one’s own interests.
The opening of the zone is another step in Budimex cooperation with the Geodetic and Road Engineering School Complex in Poznań, formally conducted since November 2023. As part of it, the company accepts about five students for apprenticeships every year and conducts classes, sharing knowledge and experience in the field of design, geodesy and construction.
“Cooperation with technical schools and investing in the education of young people is a real investment in the future of the construction industry for us. We want to create places that are conducive to both learning and integration of students and allow them to get to know the specifics of our work better. We are glad that this time the Budimex zone has appeared in a school in the Wielkopolska Province,” said Łukasz Janowski, Regional Director of Budimex SA.
– In the Geodetic and Road Engineering School Complex, we focus on practical education and preparing students for the realities of the labour market. The new zone is not only a beautiful place, but above all an investment in the well-being and development of our students. We are happy that together we are creating a space that inspires, supports and opens the way to a future career. Our cooperation with Budimex is an example of a partnership that has a real impact on the future of young people – it gives them access to practical knowledge, modern technologies and experience. – says Renata Zapotoczna, deputy headmaster of the school.
During their internships at Budimex construction sites in the region, including the recently implemented Berdychowskie Bridges investment in Poznań, students of the Geodetic and Road Engineering School Complex participate in the ongoing work of the implementation teams. They have the opportunity to get acquainted with technical documentation, observe processes related to bridge and road works, take part in geodetic measurements and learn about technologies and materials used on the construction site. Apprentices also learn the principles of construction site organization, safety standards and the roles of individual specialists in the implementation of large infrastructure projects.
Budimex is a partner of the Wielkopolska region
The educational activities of Budimex, the leader of the Polish construction industry, are consistent with the company’s wide presence in the Wielkopolska region. The company is implementing key infrastructure and cubature investments in Poznań, including, m.in, the Witosa Park Housing Estate being built in the heart of Poznań’s Winiary district, which will include 419 apartments with an area of 28 m² to 83 m². In recent years, Budimex has also completed, for m.in, the Berdychowskie Bridges, the reconstruction of Kolegiacki Square, the Grunwaldzka junction and the Student Depot dormitory.
