On Monday, 11 May 2026, the Budimex Zone, a modern space for students, combining educational and recreational functions, was officially opened at the Jędrzej Śniadecki School Complex No. 1 in Ełk. This is the sixth such zone created by Budimex in Poland.
The new Budimex Zone in the School Complex in Ełk has been designed as a place conducive to both learning and relaxation. The space is equipped, m.in, with comfortable seats, poufs and a relaxation zone, which is to support the daily functioning of students and create comfortable conditions for integration. The initiative is part of Budimex’s cooperation with the School Complex No. 1 in Ełk, and this year Budimex accepted four students of the school for internships. The ceremonial opening of the Budimex Zone was attended by representatives of the school, local government authorities and representatives of the company responsible for the development of educational cooperation and the implementation of investments in the region.
“Today, the construction industry needs young people who will want to develop their technical competences and gain experience in a modern work environment. That is why we want to show students what modern construction looks like and what opportunities this professional path offers at the stage of education. Cooperation with technical schools allows us to build relationships with future specialists and support the development of local communities,” says Piotr Doroszko, Regional Director at Budimex SA.
Ełk and its surroundings have been an important area of Budimex operations in north-eastern Poland for several years. The company carried out important infrastructure investments there, including works at the Ełk station, the Ełk Szyba Wschód stop and within the then Ełk Towarowy station, carried out as part of the modernization of the Polish section of the international railway line Rail Baltica. Budimex was also involved in road projects in the region, m.in related to DK65 and the communication system of Ełk, including Norwida Street. At the same time, the company carried out local environmental and social activities, including, m.in example, initiatives related to the restoration of greenery and planting trees, which are in line with its strategy of sustainable development and support for local communities.
Budimex consistently supports the strengthening of professional competences of the young generation by engaging in projects for technical education. So far, the company has signed 27 cooperation agreements with universities and 54 strategic partnerships with schools throughout Poland. At the same time, Budimex cooperates with universities and technical universities, offering internships, internships and participation in educational projects
and R&D.
