Drivers can already use the over 22-kilometer section of the S6 Leśnice – Bożepole Wielkie expressway. The new route, which is a bypass of Lębork and an important part of the Kashubian Route, significantly improves the comfort of travel and takes transit traffic out of the city just before the start of the May exit peak.

Even before the long May weekend, on 29 April 2026, a section of the S6 Leśnice – Bożepole Wielkie expressway, with a length of over 22 km, the general contractor of which is Budimex SA, was opened to car traffic. The new route bypasses Lębork from the south, effectively diverting transit traffic from the city center and improving the living conditions of residents. The investment also provides a faster and more predictable connection towards the Tri-City, Słupsk and seaside towns such as Łeba or Ustka. After the opening of a new section of the route, the travel time will be reduced by up to half – from about 30 to about 10 minutes.

The S6 Leśnice – Bożepole Wielkie section is a modern, dual-carriageway expressway with two lanes in each direction and an emergency lane. As part of the investment, the Lębork Zachód, Lębork Wschód and Łęczyce road junctions were built, as well as the Bożepole Wielkie junction was expanded. A wide range of accompanying infrastructure was also implemented, including numerous engineering structures, such as bridges, viaducts and flyovers. Animal crossings and environmental solutions were also built.

The opening of this section of the S6 expressway is the result of several years of intensive work by the team and good cooperation with the investor and project partners. The implementation required precise coordination of works on many fronts at the same time, from engineering structures to environmental solutions. We are very pleased that we have managed to put this section of the expressway into use before the May holiday,” says Wojciech Kołacki, Contract Director at Budimex SA.

The contract for the construction of the section was signed in 2021, and the value of the contract is PLN 718 million. The investment is an important element of the Kashubian Route – one of the most important transport corridors in northern Poland, which will ultimately connect the Tri-City with Szczecin, strengthening the transport cohesion of the region and supporting its economic and tourist development.

For almost 60 years, the Budimex Group has been implementing key infrastructure investments in Poland, contributing to the development of a modern and safe road network in the country and being responsible for the construction of almost every fourth kilometre of expressways and motorways in the country.
