After ten months of intensive construction works on the section of the S8 expressway, from the Jordanów Śląski junction to the Łagiewniki Zachód junction, the progress of works has reached 37 per cent. Thus, Budimex, as the general contractor of this section of the route, has reached the second milestone, and the implementation of the investment is proceeding according to schedule.
The contract for the construction of the S8 section, from the Jordanów Śląski junction to the Łagiewniki Zachód junction, on the Wrocław – Kłodzko route, includes the construction of a new section of the expressway with a length of about 11.2 km, which is routed along the new track on the western side of the current national road. As part of the task, two road junctions are being built – Łagiewniki North and Łagiewniki West – as well as numerous engineering structures, including bridges, viaducts and animal crossings.
After obtaining the ZRID decision on July 9, 2025 and the start of construction works on August 18, 2025, the investment entered the intensive implementation phase. Currently, the progress of works is 37 percent, and in recent months a significant part of earthworks has been carried out, the construction of engineering facilities and accompanying infrastructure continues. Over 17.7 thousand tons of bituminous mass have already been laid on the construction site.
“The construction of an over 11-kilometre section of the S8 expressway, one of the key road investments in Lower Silesia, is being carried out consistently according to schedule. The achievement of the second milestone confirms the efficient progress of work and the commitment of project teams, engineering staff, construction workers and partners cooperating in the implementation of this investment,” says Jarosław Wdowiak, Contract Director at Budimex SA.
After the completion of the investment, drivers will gain a modern and safe section of the expressway, which will improve the flow of traffic and transport accessibility of the southern part of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship. The entire S8 Wrocław – Kłodzko route is one of the most important road investments currently being carried out in the region and will be of significant importance for economic development and transport safety in this part of the country.
Budimex signed a contract for the construction in December 2023. The value of the contract is PLN 355.6 million.
