Budimex has signed a contract for the construction of the Olsztyn bypass

On 29 March 2016, Budimex signed a contract with the Olsztyn Branch of the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways for the construction of the Olsztyn bypass. The contract has a net value of PLN 742.3 million.

As part of the investment, Budimex will build a 14.7-kilometre section of the S51 dual carriageway expressway from the Olsztyn East junction to the Olsztyn Południe junction. The bypass will bypass Olsztyn from the south-east.

21 bridge structures will be built on the section under construction:

• 12 viaducts over the expressway,
• 3 viaducts along the expressway,
• 2 bridges,
• 2 animal crossings,
• 1 railway viaduct,
• 1 footbridge.

In addition to the main route, Budimex will also build two road junctions – Olsztyn Jaroty and Olsztyn East, service roads and renovate sections of selected local roads. The works will last 28 months from the date of signing the contract. Winter periods (from mid-December to mid-March) are not included in the implementation time.
