Budimex will carry out the extension of national road No. 74 between Gorajec and Szczebrzeszyn. The investment is important for both tourism and economic traffic. As part of the contract, an 8.7-kilometre section between Gorajec and Szczebrzeszyn will be extended for the amount of PLN 119.3 million and a 1.6 km long surface will be renovated in Szczebrzeszyn itself. Work will begin after the construction site is handed over (in October) and will be completed in September 2025.
The General Contractor’s task will be to reconstruct the existing national road No. 74 over a length of 8.7 km – i.e. The structure and surface of the entire road will be replaced. Safe, well-lit pedestrian crossings with asylums and road safety devices will be built, as well as five bus bays and 7 additional collective roadways. On the second section in Szczebrzeszyn (approx. 1.6 km), the pavement of DK74 is planned to be renovated, which will start before the entrance to the city and end in the area of the intersection with ul. Jan III Sobieski.

This is an important section of national road 74 and another construction project carried out on the route from the S19 near Janów Lubelski to the border crossing with Ukraine in Zosin – a crossing that will be used m.in in the future. to the reconstruction of Ukraine. The road is also of great economic importance and will serve the development of the surrounding municipalities and districts – says Lech Sprawka, the Governor of Lublin.
“We have been present in the Lublin region for years, as evidenced by the dozens of kilometres of roads built by Budimex. However, at the moment, we are responsible for the reconstruction of two sections of national roads and two sections of the S17 expressway. We treat this market and cooperation with the Lublin branch of GDDKiA very seriously and reliably. We will make every effort to complete the entire investment on time and put it into public use. The new road will not only increase traffic safety on this section, but will also allow visitors to visit this area of Polish – Wojciech Majdyś, Regional Director at Budimex.
The completion date is 18 months from the date of signing the Agreement, excluding winter periods, i.e. from December 16 to March 15.
As part of the contract, Budimex will expand the Rozłopy – Szperówka intersection. Individual and public exits will also be built or rebuilt, enabling access to areas located by the road. New bus stops, sidewalks, bicycle paths, as well as animal crossings will be built. The contract also provides for the construction and reconstruction of road ditches, rainwater drainage system and rainwater and meltwater tanks. The reconstructed streets will gain new traffic lights and markings.
