Budimex has signed a contract with EDF Polska

On 18 December 2014, Budimex signed a contract with EDF Polska SA for the design and construction of a new peak-load boiler house at the CHP plant in Gdynia.

The value of the contract is approx. PLN 27 million net.

The contract covers the design, supply, installation and commissioning of a new peak-load boiler house in the Ballance of Plant (excluding the supply of boilers, flue gas ducts and chimney).

The scope of work includes:

  • light oil feeding system along with adaptation of the existing tank,
  • heat power evacuation system from new boilers along with the delivery of equipment,
  • Electrical
  • I&C installations (control and measurement equipment and automation) including CEMS (continuous monitoring of exhaust emissions),
  • Works
  • fire protection system,

as well as commissioning of equipment and training of employees.

This is another energy contract of Budimex this year. In July, the company signed a contract for the construction of a new power unit with a net electrical capacity of 450 MWe (megawatt of electrical capacity) at the Turów power plant. The investment worth PLN 3 billion 250 million net is being carried out by Budimex in a consortium with Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe GmbH (consortium leader with 55.38% shares) and Tecnicas Reunidas SA (consortium partner with 22.31% shares).

On December 8th 2014, PGNiG Termika SA awarded a tender for the supply and installation of a flue gas denitrification system and modernisation of the flue gas desulphurisation installation for the K2 boiler at the Siekierki CHP Plant. The lowest bid (PLN 62.9 million net) was submitted by a consortium of Andritz Energy & Environment GmbH (leader, 49 per cent) and Budimex SA (partner, 51 per cent).

The company is interested in the implementation of further energy contracts. It carefully analyzes planned investments and participates in tender procedures in the field of energy. Therefore, Budimex also plans to increase the employment of specialists in the energy sector.
