Budimex will sponsor the Polish Firefighter Combat Challenge Łódź – 2018. Participants from Poland and abroad will take part in this extremely spectacular competition. The organizers expect competitors m.in. from Ukraine, Germany and Slovenia. Firefighters will have to overcome the obstacle course as efficiently as possible. There will also be a presentation of their equipment.
“We were pleased to join in financing the event, because we observe the importance of the work performed by firefighters on a daily basis ,” says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board of Budimex S.A. Polish firefighters are known all over the world for their professionalism, excellent preparation and excellently conducted operations. The best example was the help they recently provided to their colleagues in Sweden, becoming heroes for the local residents. Our company also often has the pleasure of working with them, m.in. during the evaluation of our development investments. The construction and firefighting industries must work closely together, because it is a guarantee of safety, which is very important to us. For these reasons, we decided without hesitation to sponsor the Firefighter Combat Challenge – says Dariusz Blocher.
The organizer of the Polish Championships in Łódź, which will take place on September 28 – 29, 2018. in the Manufaktura Shopping Center in Łódź, there is the Firefighter Combat Challenge – Poland Foundation. – We also received Budimex’s sponsorship last year, and our cooperation was excellent. We are all the more pleased that we can also count on the company’s help now. Budimex’s support will provide us with m.in. building a tower, which is one of the most important elements in the entire circuit – says Jerzy Kulicki, coordinator of the competition preparations.
The event is extremely spectacular and attracts crowds every time. Firefighters present excellent preparation for their service and perfect training. Viewers can get to know the specifics of their daily work better.
Competitors from Poland and abroad will take part in the competition. The competition will consist of running a specially prepared obstacle course, in which speed, accuracy and knowledge of the activities performed during rescue and firefighting operations will count. For spectators, in addition to the opportunity to observe the course of the competition, many other attractions are planned, such as presentations of fire vehicles or a climbing wall. Children will be able to take part in the “mini FCC” game, similar in character to the Polish Firefighter Combat Challenge Championships. The little daredevils will overcome a similar track as their older friends, but adapted to their abilities. They will also receive appropriate equipment m.in. uniforms and helmets.
Although the first Firefighter Combat Challenge Championship was not held until 1998, its history goes back many years. Tests aimed at checking the physical fitness of firefighters began as early as 1975. Over time, it has become a sports discipline in which firefighters from all over the world willingly take part in competitions. In Poland, the competition has been held since 2011.
