Budimex has signed a contract for the design and construction of a sewage collector with a pumping station for the needs of the Port of Poland airport under construction. The investment will include the construction of nearly 14 km of sewage infrastructure, which will be used to discharge municipal wastewater both during the implementation of one of the largest infrastructure investments in Poland and can be used in the initial period of the airport’s operation.
The contract for the implementation of the investment “Construction of a sewage collector for the duration of the construction works of the Port of Poland with the possibility of using it at the airport operation stage” was signed on 1 October 2026. Under the contract, Budimex is responsible for preparing the design documentation, obtaining the necessary administrative decisions and performing construction works related to the construction of the sewage collector, pumping station and accompanying infrastructure. The task also includes preparing the installation for subsequent operation.
The key element of the investment will be the construction of a discharge collector with a length of approx. 13.5 km and a gravity collector with a length of approx. 0.5 km. The discharge system will consist of two pipelines, operating in a system adapted to the variable amount of sewage discharged. Such a solution will allow to handle different levels of load on the installation, resulting from the subsequent stages of construction and the future use of the airport infrastructure. The task will also include the construction of a modern sewage pumping station equipped with two sets of centrifugal pumps operating in a 1+1 system. Budimex will also build a pump chamber and hall, as well as two retention and pumping tanks with a capacity of 150 m³ and 300 m³. An important element of the installation will be a system for aeration of wastewater during its transport, including an additional pipeline with a length of approximately 12.2 km. This solution is to support the proper functioning of the sewage system on a long discharge section.

The value of the basic scope of construction works is PLN 40.4 million net, while the contract also provides for the possibility of carrying out optional works, including, m.in example, additional design tasks as well as water supply infrastructure and a temporary water treatment plant Janówek. A separate contract concerns the maintenance and operation of the constructed collector and pumping station. The total maximum value of the contract is PLN 54.06 million net.
Budimex also participates in the implementation of other key elements of the infrastructure of the Port of Poland. The company is responsible for design works and construction works in the field of deep foundations for the passenger terminal building. Involvement in projects related to the airport under construction confirms Budimex’s competence in the implementation of complex infrastructure investments of strategic importance for the Polish economy.
