On 13 September 2021, an agreement was concluded between Budimex SA and the State Water Holding Polish Waters Regional Water Management Authority in Szczecin for the reconstruction of the railway bridge over the Regalica River in Szczecin. The new bridge will provide greater freedom of inland navigation. The capacity of railway line No. 273 will also increase. The net value of the works is PLN 282 million. Budimex has 25 months to complete the works. The investment is carried out in the “build” formula. It is financed by the World Bank, the European Union and the state budget.

The objective of the investment is to adapt the existing railway bridge to the minimum clearance, ensuring the effectiveness of icebreaking operations. The bridge in its current condition does not meet the requirements, hinders and often stops the icebreaking operation. The scope of the study includes the partial demolition of the existing bridge along the railway line, the project of building a new bridge. The new building will be built in the vicinity of the current one. The planned structure will be raised by about 6.2 m above the level of the so-called “S. of great navigable water. From the old building, only the drawbridge span will be entered into the register of monuments.
The bridge over the river. Regalica: a three-span railway bridge with a steel structure 273 m long. The weight of the structure is about 4,000 tons. Two railway tracks will be built on the bridge. The bridge structure will be made using the sliding technology. Track industry: the total number of new tracks to be built is about 12 km (station and mainline tracks). All built-up tracks are to be electrified (traction), and a railway traffic control system is to be built. In addition, turnouts (24 pcs.), a platform at the Szczecin Podjuchy station (with a roof) is to be built. A new signal box building is also to be built.
Bridge industry (engineering works): 1. Railway viaduct over ul. Glass: a single-span viaduct with a reinforced concrete frame structure, length 22.8 m. A new underground passage under the track at the Szczecin Podjuchy station.
Soil reinforcement: for the purposes of the foundation of the body and the railway surface, works related to the strengthening of the existing soil will be carried out: soil replacement in the amount of approx. 75,000 m3, embankments and soil reinforcement will be performed.
As part of the industry works, underground and above-ground collisions with the existing electrical and teletechnical networks will be removed. Water supply and gas collisions will be removed/rebuilt. A nave, rainwater drainage system and lighting will be built. The following street will be rebuilt.
