Budimex to build the Institute of Precision Medicine for the Medical University of Bialystok

Budimex SA has signed an agreement with the Medical University of Bialystok for the reconstruction and extension of the building of the University Children’s Clinical Hospital in Białystok for the purpose of establishing the Institute of Precision Medicine – New Generation Medicine Centre. The investment will be implemented in the “design and build” formula, and its value is over PLN 18.3 million gross.

 

As part of the investment, Budimex will comprehensively rebuild and upgrade building G of the University Children’s Clinical Hospital. The facility will include modern laboratories and spaces designated, m.in, for research and diagnostic activities. The scope of work also includes thermal modernization of the building, replacement of window and door joinery, installation of a new passenger lift, renovation of staircases, installation of pneumatic mail and comprehensive sanitary, electrical and teletechnical installations.

 

The new Institute of Precision Medicine will be part of the developing scientific and medical facilities of the Medical University of Bialystok and will allow for further development of modern methods of diagnostics and treatment of patients. The implementation of the investment will take 18 months. The value of the contract is over PLN 18.3 million gross.

This is another Budimex investment related to the development of medical infrastructure in Białystok. In 2018, the company completed the major modernization of the University Clinical Hospital in Bialystok, carried out for the Medical University of Bialystok. Thanks to the investment, the facility has expanded by about 100 thousand m³ of new cubic capacity. The works included the reconstruction of existing buildings, the construction of new pavilions, the execution of internal installations and the construction of a three-storey car park. In the expanded hospital, m.in example, a dialysis station clinic, a Clinical Research Center and a new Nephrology Department were built, and patients gained modern rooms with individual bathrooms and better communication inside the facility.

 

In mid-2025, Budimex also completed the construction of the Infectious Diseases Clinics of the University Clinical Hospital in Białystok. In this case, the investor was the hospital itself.

 

Budimex, as the leading Polish general contractor, has been implementing some of the
complex investments for the healthcare sector in Poland.  In recent years, the company has completed the expansion of the Independent Public Clinical Hospital No. 1 in Lublin and the L. Rydygier Provincial Hospital in Toruń, and is currently expanding the Military Clinical Hospital with Polyclinic in Krakow and the Provincial Specialist Hospital in Włocławek. The projects implemented include modern operating theatres, hospital wards, diagnostic and emergency centres, and infrastructure supporting the treatment of patients.
