Budimex’s bid for the construction of a new gas-fired boiler house for the Żerań CHP Plant in Warsaw, worth PLN 99,009,624, won the tender for the implementation of this investment by PGNiG Termika. This is another order from Budimex in the energy and industrial sector. The investment will be carried out by Budimex’s power and industrial construction division. The KG2 peaking and reserve boiler house with a capacity of 260 MW will be built by December 2021.
The investment will be covered by a three-year warranty for equipment and a five-year warranty for construction works. Budimex is systematically developing its construction segment of the energy and industrial sector.
In October 2018, Budimex completed another energy contract: the Czeszów – Kiełczów gas pipeline for Gaz System SA. In addition to many projects in the waste sector and environmental protection, since 2014 the company has also been building a power unit in the Turów Power Plant in a consortium. The agreement with PGE Górnictwo i Energetyka Konwencjonalna S.A., Turów Power Plant Branch covers the design, construction and commissioning of a power plant with a capacity of 450 MWe. The construction is to be completed in 2020, and its total value is over PLN 3.5 billion. In February 2019, the Consortium: Budimex S.A. and Mitsubishi Hitachi Power Systems Europe signed a contract for the modernization of the existing flue gas desulphurization installation and flue gas discharge system at TAURON Wytwarzanie Spółka Akcyjna – Łaziska Power Plant Branch. In April this year, the consortium of Budimex S.A. and Mostostal Kraków S.A. won the tender for the construction of the Strachocina – Polish-Slovak border gas pipeline.
