Budimex has signed contracts with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Szczecin Branch, for the construction of two sections of the S3 expressway. On behalf of the company, the contract was signed by the President of the Management Board, Dariusz Blocher.
As part of the task: Construction of the S3 road on the Miękowo – end of the Brzozów bypass along with the extension of the Miękowo – Rzęśnica section, Budimex will adapt national road No. 3 to the parameters of the expressway on the Brzozowo – Miękowo section with the construction of the Brzozów bypass and on the Miękowo section (end of the Brzozowo bypass). Miękowa) – Rzęśnica (Rzęśnica junction with a junction). The contract is implemented in the “design and build” system.
The first of the tasks, Brzozowo – Miękowo, covers a section of 22.4 km. The construction of the S3 road runs mainly through forest areas. The contract will include: viaducts, animal crossings at the top, drainage culverts with the function of an animal crossing, a bridge with the function of animal crossing) and junctions: Brzozowo, Przybiernów, Babigoszcz and service areas.
The value of the contract for the construction of the Brzozowo – Miękowo section is PLN 293.13 million net.
The second task will require the extension of the existing S3 road on the section from the Mięków bypass, from the Goleniów Północ junction to the Rzęśnica junction, where the road needs to be adapted to the current parameters of the expressway. This is a 3.8 km long section. The Kliniska road junction will be built, and the Rzęśnica junction at the junction of the S3 road with DW-142 will be rebuilt. The existing forest car parks and exits to the forest will be liquidated, animal crossings and fences will be created to prevent the intrusion of animals onto the road. A total of 5 engineering structures will be built (2 upper passages for animals, a viaduct at the Kliniska junction and at the Rzęśnica junction and a footbridge), in addition, the existing structure on the Ina River will be adapted as a structure serving as a passage for animals.
The value of the contract for the construction of the Miękowo – Rzęśnica section is PLN 102.66 million net.
The Brzozowo – Rzęśnica section is part of the northern section of DK No. 3, connecting Szczecin and the south of Polish with the sea coast and the ferry terminal in Świnoujście.
The deadline for the completion of works for both sections is 34 months from the date of conclusion of the contract along with obtaining the occupancy permit. The time covered by the design includes winter periods (i.e. from 15 December to 15 March). The time of completion of the Works (stage of the Works) does not include winter periods.
