Budimex will rebuild the tram track in Toruń

On 28 November, Budimex Budownictwo, a 100% company. subsidiary of Budimex SA, signed a contract with the Municipal Transport Company in Toruń for the design and construction works as part of the reconstruction of the tram track on the cross-city line from the Toruń Miasto junction to Al. Solidarity and the construction of an interchange at the Toruń Miasto railway station and the construction of a road traffic management system.

The contract has a net value of PLN 44.5 million.

The scope of work includes three tasks:

• Design and reconstruction tracks Tram on cross-city line from the Toruń Miasto junction (Pl. 18-tego Stycznia) to Al. Solidarność (modernisation of a 1.9-kilometre section of track surface, reconstruction of tram platforms, road works, reconstruction of the power grid and underground infrastructure);
• design and construction of an interchange at the Toruń Miasto railway station (replacement of the track surface, drainage of an 840 m section of the tram line, revitalization of Pl. 17 Stycznia, construction of a footbridge over Traugutta Street, construction of new tram platforms at the new footbridge, reconstruction of an approx. 150-meter section of the roadway of Traugutta Street, replacement of the surface of bicycle paths and pavements on this street, construction of a bicycle shelter, installation of passenger information boards);
• construction of a road traffic management system (reconstruction of St. Catherine’s Square, modernization of traffic lights).

The works will be completed on 30 September 2015.
