  • Within 41 months, Budimex will design and build a 15-kilometre bypass
  • This is another investment carried out by Budimex as part of the 100 ring road construction programme.

Budimex has signed a contract with the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways, Branch in Białystok, for the design and construction of the Suchowola Bypass in the Podlaskie Voivodeship. As part of the investment worth over PLN 249 million, 15 kilometers of the route will be built along national road No. 8.

The Suchowola bypass will be part of national road No. 8 on the section between Białystok and Suwałki. The new road from the east will bypass Suchowola and a number of smaller towns, including Zagórze, Wysokie, Skindzierz, Chodorówka Nowa, Poświętne and Krzywa, thus taking transit traffic out of the cities and improving the safety of people traveling on the roads of the voivodeship.

This is another large project of Budimex in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, right next to the contract signed this year for the design and construction of the Sztabin bypass on DK8 Białystok-Augustów. In the Polish Voivodeship, the general contractor is also building three sections of the S61 expressway and the S19 Białystok West-Białystok Księżyno section (Via Carpatia).

By 2024, five intersections will be built as part of the Suchowola Bypass, including four roundabouts and one flyover. The investment will also include five bridges along national road No. 8 and two along additional roadways that will be built as part of this task. As part of the works, nine viaducts, animal crossings and roads for local traffic will also be built. The gross value of the entire investment is PLN 249,145,911.96  , and its implementation is planned for 41 months.

The Suchowola bypass is another investment of Budimex implemented as part of the government’s Programme for the construction of 100 bypasses, planned for 2020-2030. Other projects currently carried out by Budimex are m.in. the Smolajny bypass in the line of national road No. 51 in the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship and the Lipsk bypass.
