Work is starting on another section of the S10 expressway, which is of key importance for Western Pomerania. Budimex has obtained a ZRID decision for section no. 5 of the S10 route between Szczecin and Piła. This is the fourth building permit for this route and the third for the sections carried out by Budimex. Thus, the company already has permits for half of the six sections of the S10 it is building.
The fifth section of the S10, 16.60 km long, will connect the town of Cybowo with Łowicz Wałecki. The route will run through the areas of the Drawsko and Wałecki districts – through the municipalities of Kalisz Pomorski and Mirosławiec – and will be a bypass of the city of Kalisz Pomorski in a new track. The value of the contract is PLN 592.9 million gross. The contract was signed on June 20, 2024, and the investment implementation period was set at 39 months. The ZRID decision, issued on 6.02.2026, means that the main contractor can start construction works, the completion of which is planned for June 2028.
The scope of implementation includes, m.in, the construction of the Cybowo and Kalisz Pomorski road junctions, the construction of 15 engineering structures – including road viaducts and upper and lower animal crossings – as well as three bridges integrated with animal crossings and 24 culverts for amphibians and small animals. The investment also includes the construction of a pair of Cybowo Passenger Service Points (MOP) with buildings and recreational infrastructure, a Road Maintenance Circuit with technical facilities and a salt warehouse, reconstruction of district and municipal roads, construction of additional roadways within the boundaries of the road lane and comprehensive drainage of the route.
Budimex is constructing a total of six out of eight sections of the S10 expressway between Szczecin and Piła, which makes the company the main contractor for this part of the investment. The completion of the entire route on the Szczecin – Wałcz section is planned by the end of 2028.
” By implementing six of the eight sections of the S10 between Szczecin and Piła, we are responsible for the main part of this route in the region. Obtaining the third ZRID decision for our sections means that half of the sections we are currently working on are already entering the construction stage, which brings us closer to completing the entire line by 2028 ,” says Robert Jastrzębski, Contract Director at Budimex SA.
Budimex has been operating as the leading Polish general contractor of key infrastructure investments for nearly 60 years. The company has technical facilities in the country, employs over 7 thousand employees and regularly invests in the development of new technologies
and competences of its employees. It is also one of the largest CIT payers in the construction industry. In the last ten years, it has transferred over PLN 1.5 billion to the state budget on this account. The implementation of strategic projects, such as the S10 expressway, is not only about the development of infrastructure, but also about making a real contribution to the Polish economy and stable public finances.
