Ten CSR initiatives implemented by Budimex have been recognised by the Responsible Business Forum and have been published in the Report “Responsible Business in Poland 2020. Good practices”.
The report “Responsible Business in Poland. Good Practices” is the most important publication on corporate social responsibility, published for 19 years by the Responsible Business Forum. The publication is an overview of the best CSR activities carried out in Poland and summarizes the most important issues related to responsible business in a given year.

The following activities carried out in 2020 were recognised by the Responsible Business Forum:
The “Code of Ethics”, which was introduced by Budimex to counteract unethical behaviour, including corruption, bribery and all forms of discrimination. Its aim is also to strengthen the cooperation of all stakeholders of our company around the idea of sustainable growth,
“Grant for volunteering” – a project supporting local communities in the regions where Budimex operates. In 2020. The total value of the grants awarded amounted to over PLN 100 thousand, of which PLN 40 thousand was allocated to the implementation of projects in a special edition of the PN. “Volunteering in the fight against COVID-19”,
“Parent Zone” – in hospital children’s wards, Budimex prepares places where young patients and their parents can spend time together – in a friendly environment, in conditions similar to home, allowing them to forget about the hardships of illness and treatment, at least for a moment. “Hello ICE” is a social program whose goals are: to raise the level of knowledge of preschoolers and the youngest primary school students (grades 1–3) about safety on the way to and from school, the principles and methods of first aid, as well as to minimize the risk on the roads around schools. The pandemic threat caused that in 2020. we moved some of the activity to the Internet. However – while maintaining safety standards – we carried out activities such as: welcoming children by Budi the tiger (the mascot of the program) during the inauguration of the 2020/2021 school year, meetings with him on the occasion of World Reflectors Day. In 2020. As part of a pilot campaign to increase the safety of children in pedestrian traffic, Budimex has created 3D lanes in four locations (Bartoszyce, Lesznowola, Sanok, Miechów).
“A house from the heart” – Budimex, together with its partners, built and equipped a house for Magda’s sixteen-person family from near Radomsko. The impulse to organize this action were media reports devoted to the difficult situation in which the family from Wierzbica found themselves. The court decided to deprive the mother of the right to custody of eleven minor children due to terrible housing conditions. Thanks to the commitment of partner companies, the family received in March 2021. A turnkey one-storey house with an area of more than 200 m2.
“Budimex in the fight against COVID-19” “The Budimex Group has donated nearly PLN 3 million to help hospitals, public and care institutions as part of the “We are together. We help!”. We have also been involved in helping with construction works in adapting four hospitals to receive COVID-19 patients. We have also joined the #niezwalniajmy initiative, which aims to protect jobs in Polish enterprises.
The “Summer Challenge” is a programme under which Budimex invited employees after the lockdown caused by the pandemic to be physically active, strengthen immunity and take care of healthy eating. Thanks to it, you could also participate in stress management, breathing and mindfulness workshops. In addition, for three summer months, you could find ideas for exercises, advice from physiotherapists and dieticians and inspiring articles on the company’s blog.
The “Big Four – Intergenerationality Project” is an educational undertaking through which we want to present the diversity resulting from the meeting of individual generations. The objectives of the initiative are to show the measurable benefits of sharing knowledge between employees representing different generations, to build a culture of feedback, knowledge about the differences between generations, as well as to improve cooperation and communication between individual groups of employees.
“Guaranteed Success” is the first development program in our company addressed to women, aimed at supporting participants in their professional development, as well as strengthening their soft skills and managerial competences. In 2020. Budimex has already launched the second edition of the project.
“STAY STRONG” – mental strength and resilience training” is a project in which Budimex encouraged people to take care of their mental well-being. We presented practical skills for building mental resilience in a situation of increased stress (mainly related to the COVID-19 pandemic).
