Consortium of Budimex and Strabag to complete the construction of the A4

On 16 September 2014, the Rzeszów Branch of GDDKiA signed an agreement with the consortium of Budimex (leader, 50 per cent of shares) and Strabag for the continuation of the construction of the A4 motorway on the section Rzeszów (Rzeszów East junction) – Jarosław (Jarosław West junction) together with the necessary technical infrastructure, structures and construction equipment.

The contract value is PLN 584.9 million net.

The scope of work includes construction works that remain to be completed after the previous contractor, i.e.: continuation of the construction of an over 41-kilometre section of the A4 motorway from Rzeszów to Jarosław:

• completion of the construction of embankments,
• execution of layers of the surface structure of the main route,
• installation of road safety equipment (energy-absorbing barriers, noise barriers),
• finishing works (m.in. planting greenery, construction of service roads),
• completion of the construction of bridge structures – embankments, access roads to the facilities, finishing works (construction of the surface and road safety elements).

The investment is to be implemented within 14 months from the signing of the contract (winter periods, i.e. 2 times for 3 months from 15 December to 15 March, have been excluded from the time for completion).
