On 22 February, the construction of the first stage of the Łagiewnicka Route began. The general contractor of the investment is the consortium of Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman.
The Łagiewnicka Route is an important investment for Krakow in the coming years. This is one of the missing elements of the so-called Third Ring Road of Krakow.
As part of the entire investment, 3.5 km of dual carriageway road will be built, with tunnel sections and a tram line (1.7 km) connecting the Kurdwanów housing estate and Zakopiańska Street. In addition, five tunnels, new road junctions, noise barriers, bridges, footbridges, sidewalks, bicycle paths and the aforementioned tram line will be built.
The Łagiewnicka Route will run from ul. Grota-Roweckiego to the intersection of ul. Witos, Halszka and Beskidzka.
As part of the contract, we will design and perform the following construction works:
Today, the Contractor has been granted access to the construction site for the scope covered by the so-called stage I of the investment (the area of connection of 8 Pułku Ułanów Street to Ruczaj Street), for which a final decision permitting the implementation has already been issued. Cleaning works will be carried out in the remaining area.
The City of Krakow is conducting proceedings for the issuance of a ZRID decision. After obtaining the relevant decisions, it will be possible to start construction works. If no unforeseen circumstances occur, it will take place in the spring.
The construction will last until the end of 2020.
The net value of the investment is PLN 652.19 million.
The investment component related to the construction of a tram line entitled Construction of a tram line along the Łagiewnicka Route is co-financed by European funds under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment for 2014-2020.
