Budimex is responsible for the design and construction of a fragment of the  so-called Kashubian Route between two municipalities in the province of Pomorskie from Luzin (without the junction) to  Szemud (with the junction). It is part of the S6 Słupsk – Gdańsk expressway on the section Bożepole Wielkie – the beginning of the Tri-City Bypass. The progress of the works is currently 48%. The project is on schedule.

As part of the contract, Budimex will build a section of the S6 dual carriageway expressway with a length of over 10 km. In addition, 10 km of access and local streets and exits will be built to serve the area adjacent to the Kashubian Route. Access to the S6 will also be provided by the Szemud junction at the intersection with the provincial road DW 224. The project also involves the construction of 13 engineering structures – 2 bridges, 9 viaducts, 1 flyover and a passage for small animals. A characteristic feature of this section is the hilly terrain and wet ground requiring special soil reinforcement and hydrotechnical works.

Currently, the largest flyover on the entire 40-kilometer section, 30 meters high and 200 meters long, made in the overhang technology, is being built on the construction site. The facility is being built over the valley near the town of Milwino and will carry traffic over the access road and the passage for large animals – says Dariusz Blocher, President of the Management Board, CEO of Budimex. ” The first kilometres of the binding and wearing surface of the new S6 have already been laid over a length of over 4 km ,” adds Dariusz Blocher.

Budimex has already completed a total of 48% of its investments and has exceeded the milestone of the investment. Around 300 employees and subcontractors work on the construction site every day. No accidents were recorded during the work. The completion of construction works is planned for the end of November 2021. The gross value of the contract is PLN 335.8 million. The contracting authority is the General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways.

Budimex is a leader in the construction industry – on average, every fourth motorway, expressway or national road put into service in 2019 was built by the largest Polish general contractor. Currently, the company is running m.in. construction of the S1 road on the Podwarpie – Dąbrowa Górnicza section and the S5 Ornowo – Wirwajdy route, S1 Oświęcim bypass, S19 (Via Carpatia) between Rzeszów and Lublin, A1 between Tuszyn and Radomsko, S14 (western bypass of Łódź) and S5 Nowe Marzy – Dworzysko.
