Drivers in Podkarpacie will drive on a new section of the A4

First, an 18-kilometre section from the Jarosław Wschód junction (near Pawłosiów) to the Przemyśl junction (intersection with DK77, near Radymno) will be put into service. On the other hand, the section from the junction will be put into operation. Jarosław Zachód to the Jarosław Wschód junction depends on the completion of the construction of the Jarosław Zachód junction carried out by another contractor.

The A4 motorway in numbers:

• motorway area – 427 ha,
• length of the section – 25.655 km,
• access roads – 38 km,
• earthworks: excavation – 4.5 million m3 (approx. 2 thousand trips per day), – embankment – 4.3 million m3,
• bituminous surface: 500 thousand. tons (approx. 20 thousand trips),
• aggregate substructure: 900 thousand. tons (30 thousand trips, 15 thousand wagons, about 500 trains),
• land reinforcement – 100 ha,
• number of soil and cement columns – 12.5 thousand pcs., total length 150 km,
• columns created as a result of dynamic soil replacement – 300 thousand. tons, i.e. 10 thousand Courses
• reinforcements were made at 25 percent. motorway area,
• total length of steel barriers – 60 km,
• 23 bridge structures were built, including 13 viaducts along the motorway and 10 road viaducts,
• 19 km of reinforced concrete piles were made for bridge structures,
• about 100 thousand built-in m3 of concrete on facilities,
• about 14 thousand tons of reinforcement on objects,
• the longest structure is 206 m,
• the drainage system is a total of 50 km,
• retention reservoirs with an ecological function – 12 pcs.,
• construction and reconstruction of technical infrastructure equipment: gas pipeline – 8 km, power lines – 14 km, lighting – 34 km of cables, telecommunications – 35 km of SIA (motorway information system) sewage system.

The contract with the Rzeszów branch of GDDKiA for the design and construction of a 25.6-kilometre section of the A4 motorway, worth PLN 794.4 million net, was signed on 29 October 2009.
Construction works on the first section – Jarosław – near Pawłosiów – began in August 2010, while on the section from Pawłosiów to Radymno – in October 2010.
