From Warsaw, through Wapno, Biecz, Myślenice, to Lublin and the Tri-City – 254 projects were submitted to the competition “Change the world. Budimex 50 years”, in which the winner wins 500 thousand. The main assumption of the jubilee competition is to change the space and life around you. Build, renovate, modernize. But not alone, but
with institutions working for the social good, not for profit.

What would non-governmental organisations, foundations, social activists and local government officials who responded to the idea of Budimex want to change around them? “Many of these projects surprised us. The imagination of the originators is unlimited,
And the applications are prepared professionally. There is a lot to choose from,” admits Maria Mikołajczak, a representative of the jury.

There are also other projects in which entire local communities and the authorities of a given area are involved, such as the modernization of historic buildings or the creation of new spaces for sports. – Everyone wants to change the space around them. Because the people who sent in their ideas know that it will best serve them and their loved ones,” says Rafał Sonik, chairman of the jury, winner of the Dakar Rally, owner of Gemini Holding.

After verifying the submitted applications, the jury selected as many as 99 projects for the next stage, including 33 in the field of education and upbringing, 18 in local development, 17 in social assistance, 10 in health and culture and art, 5 in sport and ecology, as well as 1 project in the field of science and technology.
