On 20 July 2021, at the Zegrze Pomorskie junction of the new S11 route under construction, Budimex, together with the contractors of the remaining sections, inaugurated the construction of the S11 route from Koszalin to Bobolice over a length of over 40 kilometres.
This is the beginning of the most important transport corridor in central Pomerania. S11 part of the “way of life” for central Pomerania – said Andrzej Adamczyk – Minister of Infrastructure at the start of the works.
The S11 section implemented by Budimex starts from the north at the Koszalin Zachód junction and ends in the south at the Zegrze Pomorskie junction. The total length of the section is 16.8 km.
The construction and contract team that carries out this task is one of the most experienced in our company in the implementation of difficult road contracts, including sections of the S3 and S6 in Western Pomerania ,” said Cezary Łysenko , Director of Infrastructure Construction at Budimex SA, during the inauguration.
The section under the contract worth PLN 471 million net is being implemented in the design and build system. The contract for the construction of this section of the S11 was signed in March 2020. The road with a bituminous surface will be built by the end of September 2023 and will connect m.in. section of the S11 road with the S6 route under construction.
We are glad that the Polish company is also building the history of this region along the new route. The determination of all administrative bodies in the preparation of the documentation necessary to issue the ZRID was at a very high level. We will use every moment to take advantage of this pace also during construction – adds Cezary Łysenko.
The new S11 will significantly improve access to the Baltic Sea and communication of Central Pomerania with the rest of Polish. As part of the entire 40-kilometre section of the new S11, two motorway service areas and seven viaducts over the expressway, four bridges (including one 200 m long over the Radew River), five viaducts along the expressway and 23 culverts and animal crossings will be built.
Budimex is constructing every fourth kilometre of expressways and motorways in Poland. Eighty percent of its road contracts are completed by the company before the contract deadline. Budimex carries out road contracts to a large extent with its own equipment and people. At the moment, the largest Polish general contractor is carrying out construction on sections of the A1 in the province of Szczecin. S61 in Podlaskie Voivodeship, S5 in Kujawsko-Pomorskie Voivodeship and S6 in Pomorskie Voivodeship. The company employs over 7 thousand Polish engineers and designers.
