Dariusz Blocher – President of the Management Board of Budimex, together with the Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Poland Mateusz Morawiecki, Minister of Culture and National Heritage Piotr Gliński and Mayor of Ostrołęka Łukasz Kulik opened the Museum of the Cursed Soldiers in Ostrołęka.

“I would like to thank Budimex for the careful construction and, as always, for the more than average effort to overcome all difficulties. I am glad that an investment such as a museum has been carried out by a company with a Polish and such a long tradition as Budimex – said Minister Gliński.

Great things always have their small beginnings. As for Budimex’s projects, this building is not a large motorway or a large office building, but it was nevertheless an unusual construction for us. Because, as the previous speakers have said, it is a tangible and material beginning of the process of uncovering the history of many forgotten heroes – said Dariusz Blocher.

“From this point of view, it was an unusual construction for our company. In July 2017, we signed a contract. The renovation and reconstruction took 17 months. During this five-month period, additional works related to additional passages and accesses to buildings were carried out – added Dariusz Blocher.

Construction began in July 2017 and included the modernization and expansion of the old detention center, originally a tsarist prison from 1903. The total area of the facility is 3.5 thousandm2 – the entire facility consists of six buildings, including two new facilities.

Budimex is also involved in other key construction sites for Polish history, such as the Polish History Museum in Warsaw and the Sybir Memorial Museum in Białystok.
