Quizzes, coloring books, riddles and engaging fun – this is what parents are currently looking for to make the most of their stay at home. This is a good time to talk to your children about safety rules. Ideas for creative educational games on this topic can be found on the program’s website

www.helloice.pl.

The current situation in Poland, when all educational institutions in the country have been closed due to the epidemiological threat, has caused most parents to wonder how to manage their child’s time for at least the next two weeks. Our additional obligation is also to minimize leaving the house, and this is a great opportunity to discuss with your child the definition of citizenship, social responsibility and safety rules.

Baking cookies together, art experiments, reading books are just some of the ready-made ideas that are proposed to parents in the current situation. Budimex, the company implementing the Hello ICE programme  , supports the loud and broad #zostanwdomu campaign and provides parents with a package of new proposals for spending time effectively with their children. He suggests that the current time should be used for games and activities on the subject of road safety and when using the Internet. Therefore, the Kids Zone (https://www.helloice.pl/strefa-dzieci/ tab, available on the program’s website, has been supplemented with new activities – thematic coloring books, quizzes, trivia and games for self-preparation positively engage and teach at the same time. The coloring pages draw the attention of the youngest to road situations, they also indicate the appropriate reactions in an emergency situation. Quizzes and games, dedicated to slightly older children, strengthen the already acquired knowledge about road signs and their functions, emergency numbers and the rules of safe use of the Internet in an interesting way.

Another idea is competitions with prizes on the Hello ICE fanpage – the first one planned for children and parents in the art category, in a few days will start on the program’s profile (https://www.facebook.com/HelloICEBudimex). You can’t miss it! Follow the program’s profile closely.

It is important to look for the positive side in every situation. As much as possible, let’s use this time to be together and talk, which we often miss in everyday life. Spending time together and having fun through education with Budi the tiger and Hello ICE is undoubtedly a good idea – says Katarzyna Wójcik, Expert on communication in Budimex SA.

The Hello ICE programme has received the honorary patronage of the Minister of Infrastructure and the Minister of National Education. It is dedicated to students of grades I-III of primary schools and pre-school children and aims to expand knowledge in the field of broadly understood safety, both on the road and online. The key element of the campaign is an interactive map on which everyone can mark a dangerous place in the vicinity of the school. During the first edition of the program, nearly 300 dangerous points near educational institutions throughout Poland were marked on the map! Problematic areas can be marked at any time on the https://www.helloice.pl/mapa-punktow-niebezpiecznych.html page.
