Budimex is responsible for the construction of a section of the future S19 expressway on the Haćki – Bielsk Podlaski Zachód section (with the junction) and a section of national road No. 66, which will be rebuilt to the extent enabling communication with the expressway. On the section, m.in, the first foundations and supports of bridge structures have already been made. The gross value of the contract is approx. PLN 326 million. This is another section of the international Via Carpatia road, and the first in the Podlaskie Voivodeship, implemented by Budimex.
As part of the task, in addition to the design and construction of the S19 expressway with a length of 9 km and national road No. 66 with a length of 2.16 km, the existing national road No. 19 will be connected by building slip roads and a roundabout, which will be located in front of the entrance to Bielsk Podlaski from Białystok. The scope of road works also includes the construction of the Junction “Bielsk Podlaski Północ” with slip roads, the “Bielsk Podlaski Zachód” junction with two medium roundabouts constituting elements of the junction and intersections of the four-entry medium roundabout type connecting the designed intersection of DK66 with the existing national road 66. In total, seven viaducts, seven ecological culverts and two animal crossings are also to be built as part of the investment. In addition to the above-mentioned works, the investment will include the construction of the Road Circuit at the “Bielsk Podlaski Zachód” Junction together with m.in. buildings, a parking lot and a salt warehouse.

The first supports and foundations of the bridge structures have already appeared, and the bridge works will progress systematically in the coming days. The S19 is an important part of the Via Carpatia, and thus a great facilitation of communication and an important route from both a local and international perspective. Currently, the ongoing works are related to the implementation of reinforcements, excavations and embankments, reconstruction of electrical, water, sanitary, teletechnical and gas collisions. As part of the task, there will be about 410 thousand m3 of excavations, 590 thousand m3 of embankments, 30 thousand m3 of exchanges, which gives over 1 million m3 of earthworks. Over 175 thousand tons of bituminous mass will be used during bituminous works.
The entire S19 expressway is to be part of the international road connection Via Carpatia connecting Northern and Southern Europe. It is to be 570 km long and will run from the border crossing with Belarus in Kuźnica Białostocka to the border with Slovakia in Barwinek. Statistically, Budimex implements on average every fourth kilometre of expressway in Poland.
