The consortium of Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman will complete the construction of the Racibórz Dolny Reservoir

On 30 November this year, Budimex and Ferrovial Agroman concluded: with the Regional Water Management Authority in Gliwice for the completion of the construction of the Racibórz Dolny flood control reservoir.

The gross value of the contract is PLN 903 million. The scope of work includes the construction of a dry flood control reservoir with a length of 22.4 km and a height of 11 m. It will consist of a front dam with an overflow and discharge structure supplying water to the so-called of the Municipal Oder, the left-bank dam – 9.6 km and the right-bank dam – 8.8 km. They will be made in an earth structure. The total capacity of the tank will be approx. 185 millionm3.

The Racibórz Dolny reservoir on the Odra River in the province of will be built as a polder – a dry reservoir filled with water only during the passage of flood waters. It is to protect approx. 2.5 million inhabitants of the Odra basin – from Racibórz to Wrocław.

Budimex has extensive experience in the implementation of hydrotechnical investments. As a general contractor, it rebuilt, among others: the ports in Świnoujście and Szczecin, the Płonie Canal at the Martwa Wisła River in Gdańsk and the Rydzyna Water Reservoir.
