The idea to create the first forest school in Poland was recognized as the best in the competition “Change the World. Budimex 50 years.”
The Three Four! thanks to winning the main prize in a competition organised by Budimex on the occasion of its 50th anniversary, it will be able to create the first school in Poland where classes will be held in the forest all year round, regardless of the weather. “We got wings!” Thanks to the competition, we realized how much we had already achieved,” she said, holding a check for 500 thousand. – We had a fantastic job, because the harder the better. All the projects that were discussed changed the world. The very fact that we can join such projects is an ennoblement for me,” said Rafał Sonik (Gemini Holding), chairman of the jury, after the deliberations. Already during the announcement of the winning project, representatives of the Three Four! They cried with joy. “You wanted to change your children’s world – it’s the most natural thing you can imagine. You started with three pupils. Now you are changing the world of hundreds of children. And thanks to the fact that we will help you, you will have a positive impact on the lives of thousands of young people. If we are part of this snowball, we will be proud of it,” added Rafał Sonik.
During the finals, which took place on Wednesday, 5 September at the SWPS University, three teams of finalists presented their projects to a jury consisting of: chairman Rafał Sonik (Gemini Holding), Konrad Maj (SWPS), Mateusz Turecki and Cezary Łysenko (Budimex), Maria Mikołajczak (Task Force Consulting). Each team had 20 minutes to present themselves. Then the jury asked questions.
The most convincing were the representatives from the three quarters! They presented their vision of teaching children very emotionally and spontaneously. With such emotion, they talked about what they would create for others if they were to receive this half a million zlotys that many people present in the SWPS auditorium had tears in their eyes.
The winning project provides for the creation of a database with field subject laboratories enabling the implementation of the core curriculum. This is to be done in an unprecedented way, also in the event of extreme weather conditions. These will be four container, wooden pavilions, set up near Białystok in the forest of the Dojlidy Forest District.
The second place was taken by the hospice for children im. st. Lawrence. Their Biophilia, i.e. a therapeutic and educational garden, assumed the creation of a year-round tropical garden with a butterfly house at the hospice. The third place on the podium was taken by the Habitat for Humanity Poland foundation, which helps people in a difficult housing situation. Their project involved the creation of a ReStore Center and environmental education combined with a charity shop with furniture and home furnishings.
The winner of the competition received the main prize (PLN 500 thousand). The second place was awarded 45 thousand. PLN. (donated for statutory purposes), III place 35 thousand. PLN. (statutory objectives). In addition, the Internet Users’ Award, 20 thousand. PLN. (statutory objectives) was awarded to Biofilia, for which over 30 thousand votes. People. For the implementation of the project, three four ry! has time until mid-December 2018.
