On 22 June 2015, on a 7-kilometre section of the A2 motorway, from the junction in Konotopa near Warsaw to Pruszków, a warranty replacement of acoustic screen panels manufactured and delivered by Metalesa will begin.
The reason for the replacement is corrosion centers appearing on the panels. Defective screen panels will be replaced with new ones from another manufacturer.
The panels will be replaced successively, and the work will be carried out on approx. 500-meter sections. First, the panels along the roadway of the A2 motorway in the direction of Warsaw will be replaced. The beginning of works is in the area of the Pruszków junction.
For safety reasons, the replacement of panels is associated with the need to periodically shut down one lane of the road. The contractor will organize the works in such a way as to minimize the nuisance for drivers. To this end, a work schedule has been developed that takes into account the traffic volume on this section of the motorway, providing for works outside rush hours, including at night.
The contractor will start works with those panels that can be replaced without occupying the main roadway – the works will be carried out from outside the road lane or from the emergency lane. Works on the roadway of the motorway in the direction of Warsaw will be carried out from Monday to Thursday except from 5.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m., and on Fridays except from 5.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. On Saturdays, no breaks in work are planned, while on each Sunday the break in work will last from 2.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m.
In addition, if there is a significant slowdown in traffic on the motorway during the works, the contractor will stop them in order to improve the passage.
The replacement of the acoustic screens panels will last until the end of October 2015.
