A consortium of companies, in which Budimex S.A. is one of the partners, has completed the modernisation of LCS Kutno (Żychlin – Barłogi section) on the E-20 railway route. As part of the consortium, Budimex carried out works on the section of the E-20 line from km 149,000 to km 172,000, including the Krzewie – Kłodawa, Kłodawa – Zamków and Barłogi – Koło routes, as well as the Kłodawa station, the Zamków branch station and the Barłogi station.

As part of the reconstruction, Budimex dismantled the tracks, strengthened the subgrade and built a new surface, as well as built a new overhead contact line and two new signal boxes – in Kutno and Barłogi. A new computer rail traffic control system has been launched at the Kłodawa and Barłogi stations. The implementation of works on the Zamków – LCS Kutno border section required the introduction of a complete closure of the line, and rail traffic was carried out along a detour route. In addition, replacement bus transport was introduced for the duration of the works and the closure of the line. Once all works on railway line 3 are completed, traffic can be carried out at a speed of 160 km/h for passenger trains and 120 km/h for freight trains. Thanks to the new platforms, passenger service has improved.
