Another three-dimensional pedestrian crossing in\u00a0Poland was built in\u00a0Cz\u0119stochowa, implemented as\u00a0part of the Hello ICE \u2013 Budimex for Children programme. After Bartoszyce, Lesznowola, Miech\u00f3w and Sanok, Cz\u0119stochowa is the fifth city in\u00a0the country to\u00a0test the increasingly popular solution that improves pedestrian safety on\u00a0the road. The 3D lanes in\u00a0Cz\u0119stochowa are just the beginning of similar investments in\u00a02021. In\u00a0the following months, 3D lanes are to\u00a0be\u00a0built in\u00a0at\u00a0least five more locations.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u2013 In\u00a02021. we\u00a0are continuing the pilot project of 3D stripe painting, which\u00a0last year met with considerable interest from cities and local governments. This is an innovative solution that has not been very popular in\u00a0Poland so far. Currently, however, more and more cities are willing to\u00a0test it, which makes us very happy, because it confirms the involvement of local governments in\u00a0the very important issue of pedestrian safety on\u00a0the roads,\u201d says Cezary M\u0105czka<\/strong>, Member of the Management Board of Budimex.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0the Municipal Road Authority in\u00a0Cz\u0119stochowa, they point out that every action that has a\u00a0chance to\u00a0improve the safety of pedestrians on\u00a0city roads in\u00a0the future is worth taking and testing.<\/p>\n

\u201cDue to\u00a0the lack of appropriate legal regulations in\u00a0our country, we\u00a0cannot commonly introduce solutions related to\u00a0three-dimensional marking on\u00a0public roads. However, we\u00a0are in\u00a0a\u00a0privileged situation because such an opportunity has arisen on\u00a0the internal road leading m.in.\u00a0to\u00a0our new headquarters \u2013 said Maciej Hasik<\/strong>, spokesman for the Cz\u0119stochowa MZD and\u00a0adds. \u201cHowever, it will not be\u00a0testing for the sake of testing, because the road is also an access road for neighboring institutions. It is m.in.\u00a0School and educational institutions, i.e. a\u00a0three-dimensional zebra, has a\u00a0chance to\u00a0generate more caution among drivers and will be\u00a0helpful for those who move on\u00a0foot within our headquarters.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0Hasik emphasized, the three-dimensional pedestrian crossing in\u00a0Cz\u0119stochowa was built right next to\u00a0the kindergarten, the complex of special schools and the headquarters of the Municipal Road Authority, which only emphasizes the city\u2019s commitment to\u00a0promoting good practices and increasing awareness of safety among both pedestrians and drivers. Why is it so important?<\/p>\n

Mainly because Polish roads are among the most dangerous in\u00a0Europe, which is confirmed by\u00a0statistics. Suffice it to\u00a0say that in\u00a02020 alone. there were 5235 accidents involving pedestrians in\u00a0Poland, more than half of which took place at\u00a0pedestrian crossings. Their main causes are the failure to\u00a0give way to\u00a0a\u00a0pedestrian in\u00a0the lanes and the failure to\u00a0adjust the speed by\u00a0drivers. This is another proof that changes in\u00a0the awareness of drivers are needed, and the expansion of road infrastructure with three-dimensional crossings can help a\u00a0lot in\u00a0this.<\/p>\n

While in\u00a0Poland, due to\u00a0the still low popularity of 3D stripes, there is a\u00a0lack of precise information on\u00a0their effectiveness, we\u00a0know that the effect of the optical illusion used in\u00a0three-dimensional passages has already passed the test m.in.\u00a0in\u00a0India and Iceland, where drivers, seeing 3D markings, took their foot off\u00a0the accelerator, and the speed of vehicles decreased by\u00a0an average of 40%. In\u00a0Poland, 3D belts have so far appeared m.in.\u00a0in\u00a0Lidzbark Warmi\u0144ski and in\u00a0the aforementioned Bartoszyce, Lesznowola, Miech\u00f3w and Sanok and recently \u2013 in\u00a0Cz\u0119stochowa.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
