Patients of the Provincial Hospital for the Nervous and Mentally Ill im.\u00a0J\u00f3zef Bednarz in\u00a0\u015awiecie can already spend time in\u00a0new spaces. <\/strong>The 36th Parent Zone was created in\u00a0the VII Children\u2019s Ward. Despite the difficulties caused by\u00a0the pandemic, the social program \u201cParent Zone. Budimex for Children\u201d has been running continuously since 2013. Thanks to\u00a0this project, up to\u00a0300 children a\u00a0year will be\u00a0able to\u00a0use the friendly and subdued space. <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cParent Zone. Budimex for Children\u201d is a\u00a0nationwide social project, run and\u00a0\u00a0fully financed by\u00a0Budimex SA. The aim of the project is to\u00a0create special places in\u00a0children\u2019s wards of Polish hospitals, where facilities and creative solutions will be\u00a0conducive to\u00a0the hospitalization process and shorten the recovery time.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Provincial Hospital for the Nervous and Mentally Ill in\u00a0\u015awiecie is located in\u00a0a\u00a0historic nineteenth-century complex and is the oldest and longest operating facility in\u00a0Poland. The implementation of the 36. The zone was the largest in\u00a0terms of area and at\u00a0the same time the first at\u00a0which only the areas of the old corridor were adapted. In\u00a0addition, this project concerned the highest spaces, because the historic vaults reached almost five meters in\u00a0height.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the 36. The zone, which we\u00a0donate as\u00a0part of the social program \u201cParent Zone. Budimex for Children\u201d. The project in\u00a0\u015awiecie was unique for us, not only because of its location in\u00a0a\u00a0beautiful, nineteenth-century building, but also because of the needs of patients. Due to\u00a0the profile of the facility, visits from relatives are less frequent, and the creative solutions used during the adaptation of corridor spaces had to\u00a0be\u00a0strictly adapted so that they provide a\u00a0sense of peace. The new Zone we\u00a0have handed over will be\u00a0a\u00a0meeting place for patients who will spend time there after school and therapeutic activities.\u201d<\/em> \u2013 says Aldona Or\u0142owski, Director of the Recruitment, Development and Communication Office at\u00a0Budimex.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The inspiration for the space arrangement was the sea, which is why the main colors are shades of blue, beige and white, which will have a\u00a0soothing effect on\u00a0young patients. The spaces of the old corridor have been adapted, almost 120 square meters in\u00a0total. The walls are covered with PVC boards and stickers. Blue shutters have been installed on\u00a0the windows. The doors were renovated, and there were also plates with the names of the offices. A\u00a0large, built-in wardrobe was created, which will accommodate, among other things: a\u00a0TV set and school materials. In\u00a0addition, there are boards for drawings on\u00a0the walls. The spaces of the corridor have been supplemented with the necessary furniture, i.e. tables, chairs and other seats. Up to\u00a0300 beneficiaries\u00a0per year will be\u00a0able to\u00a0benefit from the Parent Zone in\u00a0\u015awiecie.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In\u00a0line with the idea of the programme, Budimex volunteers took part in\u00a0the last stage of the renovation works. On\u00a0the day of the final, the 36. The zone was officially handed over, and a\u00a0press meeting was organized in\u00a0front of the building of Departments X\u00a0and VII.<\/p>\n

Creating more comfortable conditions for parents and caregivers of young patients to\u00a0stay in\u00a0the hospital, and thus improving the well-being of children and facilitating their faster recovery is the main goal of the original and unique social program \u201cParent Zone. Budimex for Children\u201d. Since 2013, the programme has been implemented and fully financed by\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

As\u00a0part of the program, special zones for parents are separated in\u00a0children\u2019s wards of Polish hospitals. Depending on\u00a0the needs and conditions in\u00a0individual facilities, it may be\u00a0arranging an unused room or\u00a0a\u00a0fragment of a\u00a0corridor, equipping the hospital with\u00a0an appropriate number of folding beds or\u00a0sanitary facilities, or\u00a0organizing a\u00a0place to\u00a0rest and play with children. The main objectives of the Parent Zone programme are to\u00a0provide sick children staying in\u00a0hospital with their parents for as\u00a0long as\u00a0possible, to\u00a0reduce stress caused by\u00a0isolation and lack of contact with parents, to\u00a0publicise the problem of limited contact between parents and children in\u00a0paediatric wards and to\u00a0reduce the time of children\u2019s stay in\u00a0hospitals.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
