With a\u00a0view to\u00a0increasing flexibility and full independence in\u00a0the implementation of contracts in\u00a0the segment of track works and overhead contact line development, Budimex plans to\u00a0purchase new equipment fully adapted to\u00a0move on\u00a0Polish tracks. Budimex\u2019s machine park will be\u00a0enriched with new tamping machines, welding machines, a\u00a0scraper, a\u00a0locomotive and\u00a0trolleys, as\u00a0well\u00a0as\u00a0several dozen specialist wagons. In\u00a0total, Budimex will have over 80 units of rolling stock and track machinery. The cost of the investment in\u00a0the new equipment will amount to\u00a0PLN 129 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Budimex is already preparing to\u00a0receive two machines (tamping machine and\u00a0scraper), which should arrive from the Plasser & Theurer plant to\u00a0Polish at\u00a0the\u00a0turn of July and\u00a0August this year. The company decided to\u00a0invest in\u00a0its own resources in\u00a0the field of railway equipment in\u00a02018, when a\u00a0maintenance train and two two-way vehicles for\u00a0hanging the network were purchased, as\u00a0well as\u00a0a\u00a0Unimat turnout tamping machine, a\u00a0CSM track tamping machine, a\u00a0profiling machine, a\u00a0welding machine, trolleys and\u00a0specialized wagons. The next stage of the investment in\u00a0new equipment is to\u00a0contribute to\u00a0Budimex\u2019s full independence during the implementation of contract activities.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the phase of trial implementations in\u00a0the field of the traction network, we\u00a0have been working in\u00a0this area for over six months with the use of our own equipment and people. We\u00a0needed some time for implementation, but now, for example, on\u00a0the contract in\u00a0Warszawa Zachodnia, we\u00a0do\u00a0all the works in\u00a0the field of overhead contact line assembly ourselves. We\u00a0plan to\u00a0further develop competences in\u00a0this area and\u00a0independently carry out work on\u00a0subsequent contracts <\/em>\u2013 says Maciej Olek, Director of Railway Construction at\u00a0Budimex S.A.<\/p>\n

Budimex makes every effort to\u00a0operate on\u00a0the basis of its own equipment. Rental takes place only in\u00a0exceptional situations, most often when there is an accumulation of many works at\u00a0the same time, or\u00a0there are circumstances that make it difficult to\u00a0transport machines from one construction site to\u00a0another. Budimex has a\u00a0number of predispositions to\u00a0perform all works in\u00a0the\u00a0field of railway infrastructure, excluding\u00a0only technologies used to\u00a0control rail traffic. \u2013 adds Maciej Olek.<\/em><\/p>\n

Buying new equipment is an investment for years. Budimex plans to\u00a0enter the international market, and if the railway contracts are won, these\u00a0machines will also be\u00a0used during operations abroad.<\/p>\n

\u201cMachines of this type are purchased with a\u00a0view to\u00a0using them for 15-20 years. The rate of return on\u00a0these investments depends, of course, on\u00a0the scale and number of contracts being executed. However, it should be\u00a0remembered that these are investments that guarantee our independence and give us much more flexibility in\u00a0terms of planning and implementation of works, which translates directly into the efficiency of project\u00a0 implementation, and in\u00a0this sense we\u00a0can say that they pay off immediately <\/em>\u2013 comments Maciej Olek.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
