01.10.2021 representatives of the Budimex and KZN Rail consortium together with representatives of the investor \u2013 the local government of the Ma\u0142opolska Region; and the final beneficiary \u2013 Koleje Ma\u0142opolskie; inaugurated the construction of technical facilities worth over PLN 92 million to\u00a0service rolling stock in\u00a0Krak\u00f3w. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The contract for the investment, implemented in\u00a0the design and build model, was signed a\u00a0year ago. During this time, the contractors managed to\u00a0make the necessary multilateral arrangements for the project \u2013 which, due to\u00a0the prevailing pandemic, was associated with numerous difficulties and prolongation of the process. Finally, at\u00a0the beginning of September this year. The Voivode of the Ma\u0142opolska Region issued a\u00a0decision approving the construction design and granting a\u00a0building permit.<\/p>\n

The symbolic groundbreaking ceremony, which took place 4 weeks later, begins the actual construction process. As\u00a0part of the project, within the next 10 months, modern technical facilities of Koleje Ma\u0142opolskie will be\u00a0created, which will guarantee the reliability of the rolling stock and the high quality of the carrier\u2019s services. The back-up building itself, built by\u00a0Budimex, will be\u00a0divided into four zones, where the actual repair hall will be\u00a0located; The two-storey office and social part m.in.\u00a0with a\u00a0signal box, control room or\u00a0facilities for conductor teams; workshop and warehouse part and a\u00a0whole train wash. The facilities will be\u00a0equipped with a\u00a0sewage treatment plant, as\u00a0well as\u00a0a\u00a0station for emptying toilets and launching tanks, an underfloor lathe, an overhead crane and rail vehicle lifts, devices for measuring wheel pressure and controlling wheel wear. According to\u00a0the project, the hall will also include water supply, sanitation, central heating and air conditioning installations. The consortium leader \u2013 Budimex \u2013 will also be\u00a0responsible for the general development of the area (pavements, access road, car park).\u00a0<\/p>\n

The scope of the project also includes partial demolition and construction of the track system and overhead contact line, for which the consortium member \u2013 KZN Rail \u2013 will be\u00a0responsible. The hall will have three 140 m long tracks made in\u00a0ballast-free technology \u2013 two for inspection and repair and one for a\u00a0closed-circuit car wash. In\u00a0addition to\u00a0the hall, 15 parking tracks with a\u00a0total length of almost four kilometers will be\u00a0built. A\u00a0dozen or\u00a0so necessary\u00a0 turnouts will be\u00a0manufactured by\u00a0the KZN Bie\u017can\u00f3w Group\u2019s Krakow plant. The entire track system will accommodate and freely operate up to\u00a030 modern 4-5 unit vehicles.<\/p>\n

The construction of a\u00a0service centre for the Ma\u0142opolska railway carrier is the first investment of this type by\u00a0Budimex. However, the company has many years of experience in\u00a0running railway projects. She completed m.in.\u00a0modernization of LCS Kutno on\u00a0the \u017bychlin \u2013 Bar\u0142ogi section with a\u00a0length of 18 km and is carrying out the reconstruction of the Port of Gdynia station worth PLN 1.8 billion gross. KZN Rail, on\u00a0the other hand, has already carried out a\u00a0similar order for Koleje Dolno\u015bl\u0105skie. Both companies have an extensive portfolio of jointly implemented projects, such as\u00a0the construction of the \u0141agiewnicka Route currently underway in\u00a0Krak\u00f3w or\u00a0the modernisation of the Nowa Huta Depot, where KZN Rail operates as\u00a0a\u00a0subcontractor for track works for Budimex. The companies have their own equipment to\u00a0perform railway works and specialized staff of engineers, thanks to\u00a0which they complete the won contracts on\u00a0time, guaranteeing the highest quality.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The project entitled. \u201cConstruction and equipment of technical facilities for the operation of rolling stock\u201d\u00a0 is one of the strategic investments of the Ma\u0142opolska Region, aimed at\u00a0comprehensive support for regional rail transport in\u00a0Ma\u0142opolska. This investment is financed from EU\u00a0funds under the Regional Operational Programme of the Ma\u0142opolska Region for 2014-2020, Measure 7.2 Rail transport, Sub-measure 7.2.1 Rolling stock, the budget of the Ma\u0142opolska Region and the own funds of Koleje Ma\u0142opolskie. The total value of the investment is PLN 92,384,199.76, eligible costs \u2013 PLN 75,165,102.56 and the value of EU\u00a0co-financing: PLN 63,890,337.18.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
