It can even be\u00a0seen from\u00a0space. Thirty National Stadiums could fit on\u00a0its surface.  <\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The main agreement with the Investor \u2013 the Hydrotechnical Plant <strong>of <\/strong>KGHM Polska Mied\u017a S.A. \u2013 was signed and the works began in\u00a0May 2018. The construction of the facility was divided into two contracts: The first one \u00a0concerned the construction of the eastern\u00a0 dam\u00a0 in\u00a0the Rudna Commune and the western dam in\u00a0the Polkowice Commune, The second contract was the construction of water, electricity and\u00a0teletechnical management infrastructure along with control and measurement equipment (I&#038;C).\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201c\u017belazny Most\u201d is environmentally neutral and completely protects the natural environment against water accumulating in\u00a0the reservoir. During the expansion of the facility, the safest variant of the construction and\u00a0sealing of the dams was implemented, both in\u00a0terms of hydrotechnical and\u00a0\u00a0Environmental.  <em>\u201c\u017belazny Most is\u00a0one of the\u00a0world\u2019s largest reservoirs for\u00a0the disposal of flotation waste. To\u00a0expand it with the Southern Quarter, we\u00a0used modern technologies, which guarantee safe and\u00a0effective use of the facility \u2013  <\/em>comments Artur Popko, President of Budimex SA.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>On\u00a0the construction site, we\u00a0maintained a\u00a0high level of cooperation between many teams of the Budimex Group. Over 100 of our equipment units worked on\u00a0it, some of\u00a0which\u00a0were\u00a0purchased specifically for the needs of this investment. The equipment work was carried out by\u00a0our Hardware Services Department. The progress of the works was scanned by\u00a0laser and updated on\u00a0an ongoing basis in\u00a0the BIM system in\u00a0cooperation with the BIM Innovations Team of the Budimex SA Technical Office. As\u00a0a\u00a0result, \u00a0as\u00a0part of the construction of the reservoir, Budimex processed 30 million tonnes of soil and built 140 km of water supply, energy and telecommunication installations \u2013  <\/em>adds Artur Popko.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The total area of the Southern Quarter of the facility is approx. 600 ha, while the Main Facility \u201c\u017belazny Most\u201d itself approx. 1500 ha.\u00a0 The bowl of the Southern Quarter will be\u00a0used to\u00a0deposit waste from the flotation of copper ore from\u00a0the Ore Enrichment Plants of KGHM Polska Mied\u017a S.A. Parallel to\u00a0the expansion of the reservoir, the superstructure of the Main Facility, i.e. the current reservoir, was carried out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The value of the main contract amounted to\u00a0PLN 588 million.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u017belazny Most is a\u00a0unique hydrotechnical facility because during its operation, the embankments are built up with material deposited in\u00a0the canopy, as\u00a0the amount of stored waste increases. It is expected that\u00a0by\u00a02035, after reaching the maximum elevation of the dams, the volume of the Southern Quarter will be\u00a0about 170 million m\u00b3.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">\u201c\u017belazny Most\u201d is the largest facility of this type in\u00a0Europe. The construction of the existing reservoir began in\u00a01974. Three years later, its\u00a0operation and\u00a0simultaneous expansion began.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Budimex, as\u00a0a\u00a0leader in\u00a0the construction industry, has many hydrotechnical projects to\u00a0its credit. He\u00a0is the contractor of m.in.\u00a0of the Racib\u00f3rz Dolny flood control reservoir, and is currently carrying out works on\u00a0the reconstruction of the groyne system and regulatory structures on\u00a0sections of the Oder River in\u00a0the area of Osinowo Dolny, Gozdowice \u2013 Stara Rudnica, Kostrzyn nad\u00a0Odr\u0105, G\u00f3rzyca and at\u00a0the level of S\u0142ubice.\u00a0  The company is also implementing the second stage of the construction of the waterway connecting the Vistula Lagoon with the Gulf of Gda\u0144sk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Jacek Sasin \u2013 Minister of State Assets:<em>  KGHM is implementing investments worth PLN 10 billion. \u017belazny Most is one of KGHM\u2019s main investments. We\u00a0are glad that such an installation has been created. I\u00a0would like to\u00a0thank all the people involved for this investment, especially the employees of KGHM.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Mariusz Chludzi\u0144ski \u2013 President of the Management Board of KGHM Polska Mied\u017a:  <em>The construction took about 3 years. It was an express pace and completed before the contract deadline It is the largest investment of this type in\u00a0Europe. I\u00a0would like to\u00a0thank Budimex for their cooperation, for good and constructive cooperation. I\u00a0am\u00a0glad that this investment was carried out by\u00a0Polish companies.<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Dariusz Blocher \u2013 Member of the Supervisory Board of Budimex \u00a0\u2013  <em>The success of this project was due to\u00a0the people, on\u00a0the side of the investor, offices and our employees. It was a\u00a0very well-prepared investment and efficiently implemented by\u00a0us. We\u00a0had the means and resources to\u00a0be\u00a0able to\u00a0process one hundred thousand tons of soil on\u00a0this construction site in\u00a0one day.
