The progress of the entire contract carried out by\u00a0Budimex for PKP Polskie Linie Kolejowe, in\u00a0less than 12 months from the start of the works, is already 30%. Structural elements are being built on\u00a0level -2 of the new underground station under the Warszawa Zachodnia station, platforms 6, 7 and 8 are being constructed. Budimex has already built nearly 30 new railway turnouts.<\/p>\n

The biggest construction challenge at\u00a0the moment is the multi-discipline nature of the works carried out and the performance of works in\u00a0the immediate vicinity of the railway traffic \u2013 says Jakub Konkiewicz \u2013 Budimex Contract Director \u2013 the general contractor for the construction of the new Warszawa Zachodnia station.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Finishing works on\u00a0the roof structure of the station are also underway. The ceiling of the roof is already covered with the target panels and has the target LED lighting, powered m.in from photovoltaic panels.<\/p>\n

At\u00a0the moment, we\u00a0are starting the construction of the station building from the side of Wola. Its foundations have already been poured, we\u00a0are starting to\u00a0construct the load-bearing elements of the building \u2013 adds Jakub Konkiewicz<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

29 turnouts and 3.5 km of new tracks have been laid. Poles and gates of the new overhead contact line are being built. An underground passage is being built between the platform on\u00a0the ring line to\u00a0platforms 6, 7, 8. After removing the soil, the pouring of the concrete floor began. The Local Control Centre (LCS) building was equipped with railway traffic control devices, computers and electronics necessary for efficient train traffic.<\/p>\n

0.5 thousand people, 150 equipment units and about 70 subcontractors work on\u00a0the construction site. The construction of the largest railway station currently under construction in\u00a0Poland began in\u00a0December 2020. The works will be\u00a0completed in\u00a02023.<\/p>\n

The project is applying for funding from the European Union from the Cohesion Fund under the Operational Programme Infrastructure and Environment.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n<\/section>\n
