November 23, 2021 Budimex has signed a\u00a0contract for the construction of a\u00a0pedestrian and bicycle bridge over the Vistula River in\u00a0the \u201cbuild\u201d formula, which is to\u00a0connect the centre of Warsaw with Praga P\u00f3\u0142noc. This bridge is to\u00a0be\u00a0452 meters long \u2013 it will be\u00a0the longest crossing for\u00a0pedestrians and cyclists in\u00a0Poland and one of the largest investments of this type in\u00a0Europe. Thanks to\u00a0the construction of the new bridge, Praga will become a\u00a0kind of \u201cextension\u201d of the city centre of Warsaw. The investor of the contract is the Warsaw Municipal Roads Authority.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The bridge to\u00a0be\u00a0built by\u00a0Budimex is to\u00a0connect the banks of the Vistula at\u00a0the\u00a0level of ul.\u00a0Karowa and\u00a0ul.\u00a0Stefan Okrzeja. Covering the route by\u00a0the footbridge is then to\u00a0take 6 minutes. on\u00a0foot or\u00a02\u00a0min. Bike. The pedestrian and bicycle bridge will connect the renovated part of right-bank Warsaw with the\u00a0Vistula Boulevards. A\u00a0pedestrian route will be\u00a0created connecting ul.\u00a0Z\u0105bkowska with Powi\u015ble and\u00a0further Krakowskie Przedmie\u015bcie, while a\u00a0bicycle corridor is to\u00a0be\u00a0created for\u00a0cyclists, connecting Praga and Targ\u00f3wek with\u00a0Powi\u015ble, \u015ar\u00f3dmie\u015bcie and Wola.<\/p>\n

\u2013 We\u00a0are starting construction works preparatory to\u00a0the construction this week. We\u00a0start with an inventory of the facilities adjacent to\u00a0the construction site and with an examination of the Vistula bottom at\u00a0the construction site \u2013 <\/em>says Dariusz Demianiuk \u2013 Regional Director of the Infrastructure Construction Division of Budimex, who signed the contract with the Mayor of the Capital City of Warsaw \u2013 Rafa\u0142 Trzaskowski.<\/p>\n

The structure of the bridge will be\u00a0steel and the structure of the pillars will be\u00a0reinforced concrete. The pillars of the bridge will be\u00a0constructed from the river level. In\u00a0accordance with the contractual conditions, we\u00a0will ensure continuous traffic on\u00a0the Vistula boulevards, but it will be\u00a0limited. <\/em>The assembly of the steel structure in\u00a0the outer parts will be\u00a0carried out from land, and the central part from vessels,\u201d <\/em>adds Dariusz Demianiuk.<\/p>\n

The single-level, pedestrian and bicycle crossing over the Vistula is to\u00a0be\u00a0made of steel covered with\u00a0corten-colored paint. At\u00a0its widest point, the bridge is to\u00a0measure 16.3 m, while at\u00a0its narrowest it is 6.9 m. Width. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The bridge will connect the changing city center with the changing Praga. This is one of our top priorities<\/em> \u2013 said Rafa\u0142 Trzaskowski \u2013 Mayor of Warsaw during the signing.<\/p>\n

The structure will have LED lighting built into the railings, and surveillance cameras will also be\u00a0installed. The facility will be\u00a0fully adapted to\u00a0the needs of people with\u00a0disabilities with reduced mobility. Two zones for relaxation are also to\u00a0be\u00a0separated on\u00a0the bridge.<\/p>\n

We\u00a0agreed on\u00a0construction documentation with over 50 entities. We\u00a0sign a\u00a0contract with a\u00a0contractor proven in\u00a0Warsaw. The Western Railway Station is probably the most recognizable investment carried out by\u00a0this contractor. I\u00a0hope that the bridge under construction will become our common showcase<\/em> \u2013 added \u0141ukasz Puchalski \u2013 Director of the Municipal Roads Authority during the event.<\/p>\n

The contract value is 120 million 961 thousand. PLN gross. The works are\u00a0to\u00a0be\u00a0completed in\u00a0February 2024.<\/p>\n

Budimex is also implementing the second and third stages of the expansion of the Vistula Collector for MPWiK for the local government of the Capital City of Warsaw.
