Two months before the contractual deadline, \u00a0after obtaining the occupancy permit, the Operational Acceptance of the Strachocina \u2013 Granica RP\u00a0gas pipeline was carried out, which completes the construction stage of this section of the gas pipeline and \u00a0enables the Investor, i.e. GAZ-SYSTEM SA. start of preparing the facility for operation. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Budimex, in\u00a0a\u00a0consortium with Mostostal Krak\u00f3w, has completed the construction of a\u00a0strategic high-pressure gas pipeline in\u00a0the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. This gas pipeline is an important element of the Poland-Slovakia interconnection.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0August this year. the Strachocina \u2013 State Border gas pipeline has been technically connected with\u00a0the gas pipeline on\u00a0the Slovak side by\u00a0a\u00a0\u201cgold weld\u201d. The welding works were carried out by\u00a0Budimex on\u00a0the border of Polish and\u00a0Slovak countries. A\u00a0month before the contractual deadline \u2013 i.e. on\u00a022 September, the technical acceptance of the facility took place. Then, from 11 to\u00a014 October, Budimex performed gasification of the gas pipeline.<\/p>\n

The diameter of the gas pipeline is 1000 mm, its length is 61\u00a0km, \u00a0and\u00a0 the working pressure is 8.4MPa. During\u00a0the implementation, trenchless technologies such as\u00a0HDD (horizontal directional drilling) or\u00a0microtunneling were used. As\u00a0part of this task, Budimex used 27 thousand tonnes of steel, made 390 km of micropiles to\u00a0strengthen the area through which the gas pipeline passes, and moved 6,300\u00a0m3 of soil. The contract value amounted to\u00a0PLN 521.48\u00a0million\u00a0net.<\/p>\n

The purpose of this investment was to\u00a0build a\u00a0new gas pipeline connecting the natural gas transmission systems of Poland and\u00a0Slovakia. The Strachocina \u2013 Polish border gas pipeline being built by\u00a0Budimex is already ready for operation by\u00a0the Investor. The scale of the investment is emphasized by\u00a0the fact that over 100 subcontractors and\u00a0about 1000 employees worked on\u00a0it\u00a0 <\/em>\u2013 says Piotr \u015awiecki, Director of Energy and\u00a0Industrial Construction at\u00a0Budimex SA.<\/p>\n

The following works remain to\u00a0be\u00a0completed before the completion of the investment: securing watercourses, construction of forest roads, execution of drainage and riprap and land reclamation.<\/p>\n

From the technical point of view, the constructed gas pipeline is ready to\u00a0transmit gas. To\u00a0complete the investment, it is still necessary to\u00a0rehabilitate the area and hand over their plots to\u00a0the owners. The final acceptance will take place after joint tests with the Slovak side, confirming the correct functioning of the entire interconnector.<\/p>\n

It was a\u00a0construction carried out in\u00a0the most difficult conditions, both due to\u00a0the terrain, isolation from infrastructure and weather conditions from autumn to\u00a0spring<\/em> ,\u201d adds Piotr \u015awiecki.<\/p>\n

The route of the gas pipeline runs through the municipalities of Sanok, Bukowsko and Koma\u0144cza in\u00a0the\u00a0Podkarpackie Voivodeship. The construction of the gas pipeline between Poland and Slovakia, which has been ongoing since July 2019, is an important element of Gaz-System\u2019s investment strategy due\u00a0to\u00a0its strategic importance\u00a0 \u2013 the connection of the Polish and\u00a0Slovak natural gas transmission systems. Since 2020, Budimex has also been constructing another key section of the new gas pipeline: the 122-kilometre Goleni\u00f3w-Ciecierzyce gas pipeline.<\/p><\/div>\n <\/div>\n
